My kindle is stuck on the resting picture and will not wake up when the power switch is slid and released. Is there a reset opening to the right of the head phone jack? I have already tried holding
the power for 5 seconds and watched for 3 flashes and there was no change.

Best Solution
On Jan 1 my wife's Kindle would not shut off. I got it to do it then researched at home. This works on Kindle 3, hold the power switch for about 20 seconds and let go. In about a minute your Kindle should reboot. ;-)
