DRYER MODEL DE7400P FRIGIDAIRE IS MAKE NOISE LIKE RUBBING METAL HOW DO I FIX?

Hi martyski39...

ALWAYS UNPLUG YOUR DRYER BEFORE STARTING ANY REPAIRS
Your dryer drum is mounted in the rear with a bearing, most likely the bearing is faulty and making the grinding noise, or maybe two conditions exist.
1...Bad drum bearing noisy
2...Bad drum bearing noisy, and with play in the bearing allowing the drum to rub the felt seal away at the door making metal to metal contact.Check your door for obvious rub signs...
I will include a parts house webpage link where you can look at you "exploded" view of your dryer and order parts also.

Admiral dryer started rubbing metal to metal what

A drum support wheel bearing could need lubrication or be replaced. Also some drum support wheels have a rubber coating that wears off causing misalignment and noise. Possibly drum gasket (sometimes felt material) where drum meets rear panel is worn allowing metal-to-metal contact--should be replaced. Rubbing noise

Try checking the glide's under the front of the drum, the drum rest on the glide's to help it spin with little or no friction.

Lg dryer - front load - making a grinding noise

I also have the same problem as klrlesimmons, exactly as described. Sounds like sand is rubbing as the drum turns, and also sounds out of balance.

Repairmen replaced upper and lower glides and also the plastic bearing but not the entire bearing assembly.

Kenmore front load dryer rubbing noise

What I found with my rubbing noise was very small rocks that past the felt ring and became traped between the felt and the steel drum. I will have to pull front cover off to see if I can get to it.

Check your plastic drum slides. I get em(2) out of the drum and reverse them and that sometimes stops it.
