Re: ad pop ups
Sounds like a virus or a piece of spyware has gotten on your computer, AVG doesnt pick up alot of the viruses and spyware, i would suggest changing your virus checker and doing a scan with it. if you need more information on how to do it checkout www.onlinepcstudy.com its still under construction and new tutorials are added daily, but you will find a lesson on virus removal..

Facebook's revenues come from selling ads. Other than certain web browser addons, there's no way to remove the ads from Facebook's pages. But If you have Active X or download it and click to protected mode it will stop the adds from popping up, but will keep the regular side adds. the pop up will come on the first time you log in but if you click the little Lock emblem on the bottom right it will engage and stop pop ups, which are running on a spyware software.
Hope this helps.
There are alot of $ anti-virus and Internet security programs out there, ie: Norton, McAfee, Panda, Bitdefender. If you would like to pay $ then get ***Kaspersky***-- 2010 , I feel that is the best for your money.
REMEMBER TO KEEP UP THE DAILY MAINTENANCE ON ALL OF YOUR COMPUTERS.!
Good Luck. If you think this is good information, , please rate me. Thanks :0)
u can't uninstalled properly i think...if u have spyware doctor is enough for virus removal. Check spyware doctor is full total internet protection (with antivirus also) or it only spyware protection.
also simply steps do that.....(Before CAUTION)
go to Start->Run->Type msconfig-> they will show a pop up window. Click the tab button 'startup' it will list all the program of startup when windows is booting / system on. U click the Disable all button. Then reboot the system. After that it now shows any popup window. But u need to open the avg program manually.
please go with caution of popup window msconfig. bec. if u have any do wrongly with tat option the system may be corrupt.
use a good antivirus like AVG, a free edition is also available..at http://free.avg.com/download?prd=afe do a update of the virus and run a full system scan..that should help..other good antivirus are Kaspersky,McAffe etc hope it helps!
I recommend using all three of these programs, by doing so you have all your bases covered. AVG Free edition is an awesome program, it updates daily so you can catch even the newest viruses. Best of all it's free! Spyware Blaster is another great program, I've found that this will pick up a lot of things other programs may miss, again it's a free program. Ad-Aware is another great program, this program will also clear out any tracking cookies you may have acquired over time. I use all three of these personally and install them on every computer I build or service.
Where do I get these great free programs.
If you haven't visited CNET's http://www.download.com already you are missing out on tons of great free programs, they have everything from games demo's to music editing software, screen savers, and of course antivirus, antispyware, and antiadware programs. This site is updated frequently and includes many reviews on their content. u could simply go to this page and use the search box to find the above mentioned programs, but I'll make it easy for you, follow the below links.
