I have a Bose wave music system AWRCC2. Recently the volume got stuck on low and although everything else works on the remote, the volume control doesn't...and I can barely hear it.

SOURCE: have a Bose wave Music Sys model AWRCC2 with stuck

Yes I think you can, get out your tools and take apart the unit, what do you have to loose you can always take it to a pro if you can't get it out. Be careful to unplug the unit. Don't force anything when you take it apart, be careful not to break any parts, put all pieces back together as you took them apart. Should be very straight forward if you are careful at what you do, get a bowl to put small parts in. Good Luck.....

I own Wave Redio/CD. My new remote is Wave Music System and does not work. Why not?

The Bose Wave Radio and Wave Music System use different IR codes. It is no other reason other than Bose made the remotes incompatible. This is often done to prevent interferance with systems that may be close to each other.

I cannot get the volume to go up or down...it is stuck at one level. I have just replaced the battery, and all other functions work fine. The remote is about 2yrs old.

If you have other (Universal) remotes in your home try programming one of them to operate your Bose.I have a different Bose system for my TV and can operate the on/off and volume from my universal remote. The code I use is 440, I show another code of 302 that may work.

MY CONTROLLER WILL NOT CHANGE PROGRAM OR ADJUST VOLUME

Carefully open the remote controller unit and look inside for possible failure of the carbon pads or the remote control PCB tracks. So first of all open to clean the padds and the pcb then check specially on the volume controller pads, use old pads to be stuck on or carbon dots that are available for repairing remote controllers.Repeat this for the program pads. If the fault does not clear then look into the PCB section of the volume tracks and program tracks and use a carbon pen to make the tracks prominent. Hope this works. Good day

We have a bose wave music system model awrcc2 unit that made a poping sound & now it just buzzes. we can hear music but with a loud hum.

Sounds like you've blown a capacitor in the power supply section. Unfortunately, Bose does not release their parts lists or schematics, effectively creating a monopoly for parts and repairs. In fact, their web site says that the Bose factory is the only option for service or repair. They used to list a flat rate repair charge on the web site, but removed it - probably because it scared too many people. Their troubleshooting guide (below) might help, but it's very simplistic.

Before you invest in expensive factory repair on one of these trouble prone sets, you might want to investigate the new HD radios -- better sound at a MUCH lower price.
