Question about Amana ARB1905C Bottom Freezer Refrigerator
My ice maker works properly, but when i push the lever to dispense the ice-- the motor sounds like it is just stuck (a humming/buzzing sound) and nothing dispenses. Could something be frozen in there? I am always chipping away at the big clumps of ice that tend to melt together... I was wondering what I could do to get this moving, and also wondering if possible letting the freezer thaw out would help at all...?

Take the ice container with auger inside it and defrost it. Withe the door open to the freezer push the switch that turns light on in freezer to turn it off. Have someone push the ice dispenser switch while you hold the light button in. Tell me if there is any movement in the auger motor in rear and let me know what you find. Thanks, Sea Breeze

The water solenoid on the back of the refrigerator at the bottom is becoming clogged. There is only a very small hole in the diaphram of the valve. I suspect you have very hard water, or at least a fair amount of sediment in the water.
This valve will most likely need to be replaced by a qualified technician.
They sometimes can be cleaned, but it doesn't always work.
