Let me see if I'm understanding the question. You set the date and time and go ahead and use the camera shut it off and go to use it again and you need to set the date and time again. If so you need to replace your cameras internal battery it's about the size of a watch battery and can be done real cheap.

Okay I have a better understanding of the problem and feel it is in the set up between the two time clocks you have in this camera you have a local day date and time and a travel day date and time.
That's probably why the time changes after a while.
I'm going to show you where to go with a few screen shots. Where I think the problem lies is in the time difference setting/mode.
Here is the setting I believe you need

This has got to be it, if not I can also send you the screen shots of how to reset the camera but I doubt that'll work because day date and time are not included in the reset BUT, the time difference is. Best of luck

Okay, well not really but, by chance are you leaving the day date highlighted when you push okay to "lock" in the times? Cause if you are it won't actually take the time set. It's been my experience with Intervalometers that you set the time, date and all that and you need to move the highlight off the setting to "okay" then push the button to lock it. Wow this is strange, which it was just the battery. But your camera has a time set as well and it could be what's messing you up as well

  • kellyb2442 Jan 04, 2011

yes i am leaving the time highlighted but that is only because there is no where else to go when you press ok but do you know what i highlight when i go to save the time and press ok?

I'm thinking you are missing a step and I keep going back to "time difference" for your needs both the time (local and difference) should be the same times.
    See this little diagram.

Okay when you haves set the time and stuff you should be able to press the selector left or right up or down to highlight "OK" and then press the Menu/OK.
    Gotta be it

  • kellyb2442 Jan 04, 2011

it still doesnt seem to be working see the time just wont set for me in the ''date/time'' menu and when i go in there change the time press ''ok'' it just doesnt seem to move on after the time i have set which is very strange.

Were aren't done yet, with me reading through the manual for your camera I came upon something odd, that being the internal memory/power. It'll hold its memory for two hours after the main batteries have been removed telling me it doesn't really have an alternate battery. So what i going to ask you to do is take the batteries out and leave them out over night sort of do a hard boot to the clock.
Before you shut it down I would like you to remove the memory card and format the internal memory, install the memory card and format that. The screen shots are as follows, in the morning see if you can set the clock remember to highlight OK then press menu/ok

    shots

Remember to highlight ok then press menu/ok with the clock

The date and time will not stay after setting, is there a flash update?

This is a firmware glitch. If you disable the startup image, the date and time is not saved. To fix this issue, you must re-enable the startup image.

Turn on the camera and press Menu (M). Press the right side of the circular directional button to select the wrench. Press OK/Edit.

Next, navigate down to "Opening" and press OK/Edit. Select ON and press OK/Edit. Go back up to Date/Time and set the date.

Restart the camera to see if it works.

Date not changing on digital camera

I know this may be an obvious thought but the Time settings on this camera require a confirmation when changing which means you hit menu/ok TWICE after setting the date and time. to lock it in.
