Question about Kenmore Elite HE5t Washer
These front loaders are great but the door boots made of rubber do start to mildew over time and there is always water sitting on bottom in the pump area... the best advise i can give is make sure the door boot on front is always clean and try to dry out as much as possible.... a little bleach in unit on a small load will kill any bacteria growin and then when you finish cylces try to leave door at least cracked open so that the door boot can breathe good luck to you ....
this is a on going problem maytag went bank rupt with there first front loader and a dishwasher they had leaking thats why whirlppol corp bought them out....

Try running your hands under cold water. I just read
about a method of using stainless steel to get rid of the smell, but haven't
yet tried itout. Apparently you rub stainless steel and it gets rid of the
smell. There are even 'soap bars' made entirely of stainless steel specifically
for this purpose.
