The video chip may have over heated just like several of the Compaq models.If this is the case then you need to take the laptop apart and heat the video chip to about 200 degrees and it will fix the issue. Also you need to add some copper strips to the heat sink along with thermal paste witch it does not come with from the factory with thermal paste. That will take care of the overheating and always make sure you keep your heat sink clean as that will cause it to overheat as well. There is several videos on Youtube that show you how to do this same thing. Hope it helps!!!
