Question about Miele G848I Dishwasher

1 Answer

Washer won't start

Model G848 SCI
Dishwasher won't run when the "start" button is pressed regardless of cycle chosen. Machine behaves as if it's unplugged. Checked plug and power source and machine is receiving electricity. Checked for obstructions as well a making sure door is securely latched. Based on symptoms, it appears the "start" button is malfunctioning or defunct--- it doesn't seem to provide the resistance is usually has.
Am original owner and this s the first "breakdown" I can recall. Any idea what the problem is? Thanks!

I have a SHU5305us/u12 and my front door lettering got erase. anyone have a picture or a manual that tells me what each button means.

Cycle Interruption

As a safety feature the dishwasher will automatically turn itself off whenever the door is opened. However, if the door is opened quickly while in a wash or rinse cycle some water may splash out of the dishwasher. For this reason it is recommended that the machine always be switched off before opening the door.

To Interrupt a Cycle

1. Press the on/off button to stop operation.

2. Wait at least 10 seconds (or until the water noises stop) before opening the door.

To Resume a Cycle

1. SHU/SHI models, close the door and press the on/off button.

2. SHV models, push the on/off button and close the door.

Changing a Cycle

For Bosch dishwasher models SHI 6800 and 4320, SHU 5300, 5310 and 6800 press the program button of the desired cycle TWICE. For all other Bosch dishwasher models, press the program button of the desired cycle ONCE. The chosen cycle button (or the light above it) becomes illuminated, showing that it has been selected.

* SHU 3030 and SHU 3130 models do not have program lights.

Cancelling a Cycle

Each control panel shows which buttons to simultaneously push to cancel a cycle. Refer to your dishwasher to find the cancel drain buttons on your particular model.

1. Press the indicated buttons at the same time and hold for approximately 3 seconds.

2. When the drain pump noises stop and the LED display or clean light indicate that the end of the cycle has been reached, the dish

washer is reset.

3. Press the on/off button to turn the dishwasher off.

4. The dishwasher is now ready to run a selected cycle. Add more detergent if necessary.

WHy does my dishwasher not go beyond the wash cycle?

Sounds like a bad control board. Try turning the breaker off for a few minutes and try again. If that does not fix it you need to change the control board.

I have a Bosch SHU9955US/14 (Integra) dishwasher. There is currently a 0 with and asterisk showing on the display and the unit will not run.

see this causes and fix it. God bless you
Thermal Fuse If the dishwasher won't start the thermal fuse might have blown. The thermal fuse helps to prevent damage to the dishwasher by turning off power so that it doesn't overheat. Once blown, the thermal fuse will have to be replaced for the dishwasher to work.

Door Switch The door switch, or switches, are sometimes called interlock switches. The door switch prevents the dishwasher from running while the door is open. If the dishwasher won't start, the switch or switches might be defective. To access the door switches, remove the control panel or inside door panel - depending on the model. They can be tested for continuity.

Main Control Board The main control board provides power to nearly every component of the dishwasher. If the dishwasher won't start the main control board might be defective. YOU should first check for more common parts. Many times control boards are replaced unnecessarily because the problem was not diagnosed properly.

Touchpad and Control Panel If the touchpad is defective, the control board might not get the signal for the selections made. If the dishwasher won't start and the display doesn't seem to change properly when the buttons are pressed, the touchpad might need to be replaced. On some models the touchpad and control panel are sold together and will need to be replaced at the same time.

Touchpad If the touchpad is defective, the control board might not get the signal for the selections made. If the dishwasher won't start and the display doesn't seem to change properly when the buttons are pressed, the touchpad might need to be replaced.

Timer The timer allows power to flow to the proper parts at the proper times. If the dishwasher won't start, the timer might be defective. Keep in mind that timers are often misdiagnosed as the cause of a problem. Check other components first before replacing the timer.

The clean button blinks. the only button that works is the drain button.

Hello

Confirm that the door is closed and latched. dishwashers can detect if the door is open and will cancel any cleaning cycles to prevent water spillage. Wait for around 20 minutes before unplugging or moving the dishwasher in case the washer is cooling down, draining or drying dishes. Call a technician if the dryer does not restart.

Verify that a cycle has been selected using the "Cycles" button and that the "Start/Resume" button has been pressed. Unlike some models of dishwasher, appliances won't start until you select a cleaning cycle and press the "Start/Resume" button.

Confirm that the dishwasher's electrical outlet is switched on, if necessary, and that power is being supplied by plugging in a lamp. You may need to replace a fuse or reset a breaker on the electrical circuit if the lamp will not work in the outlet. Ensure that the dishwasher is plugged into the outlet.

Ensure that the water shutoff valves at the wall are open and that the supply hoses are free of kinks. Your washer will not start if it is unable to access the water supply. Most shutoff valves need to be turned clockwise or moved to the "Open" position to work properly.

Open the door and check the overfill float in the bottom of the dishwasher. Push it down to make sure it can move up and down freely. The machine will not start if the sensor is stuck at the top. The overfill float looks like a small cone on top of a disc with a paddle attached to the side.

SHU 53 MODELS To start test program, press and hold both SCRUB WASH and DELICATE/ECONO program buttons, then turn unit on by pressing ON/OFF button. To end test program, press ON/OFF button. To check each program indicator light, press its button. To check Cycle Countdown display, Refill Rinse Agent light and REGULAR WASH light, press REGULAR WASH button (press Delay Start button to test Cycle Countdown display alone). Using a meter with a current coil, measure current going into dishwasher. If current is ~ 11 A, then heater, high limit and flow switch are OK. If current stays at ~ 1.5-2 A, then heater, high limit or flow switch are faulty. My dishwasher Model is 665 15891790 and the serie #FG3907905. After programing my dishwasher and pressing the start button, it fills with water, but when it is due to start the sensing light comes on. I have notice that the ring under the watering arm on the bottom of the machine seams to be cracked. Could that be the problem for the machine not starting its' cycle. Thank you.
