Release keys(extractors) are not always necessary

Here is a video showing how to remove a standard radio fromthe dashboard. A pair of key extractorsare required (available from Ebay etc ) but these can be made from 2 pieces ofbent, wire coat-hanger or 4 smalldrills(using the blunt end) or 4 small Allen Keys or 4 small screwdrivers or 4 nails or even 4darts. An assistant isuseful to pull the radio out whilst you are releasing the 4 securing clips http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=urC-4NbXvDQ note: on some radios ,these 4 holes are protected by 4 small screws. These can be unscrewedusing the appropriate of Allen key.

He may have to get underneath the dashboard and see if their is a security strap or wire harness holding the radio into the mounting sleeve. It's common for installers to strap down the stereo to prevent thefts and other installer from easily taking the radio out. Have him keep trying.

How do you remove a head unit from a hyundai getz 2004

You need to remove the bezel around the stereo and a special pair of "keys" to release clips on either side before you can slide it out.
Some people have had luck using rulers or other makeshift "keys".

I put the locking keys in and the stereo won't

Here is a video showing how to remove your radio from the dashboard.

Normally , you have to push both extractor keys  slightly outwards as well as pulling them towards yourself

An assistant is useful to pull the radio out whilst you are releasing the  securing clips

What does the release key/tool look like? (nakamichi cd400)

I'm sure they didn't come with release keys.
Once the trim ring is removed a screw driver should be all that is required.

I need to install a kenwood cd player into my 2001 ford explorer step by step

goto the auto parts store and purchase a pair of stereo keys, fascia adaptor and wiring harness (you may need to get fascia and harness from a car audio store or circuit city.)
Then use the stereo keys to remove the factory stereo. Push them into the small holes on the front of the stereo push them slightly outwards and pull to release the stereo. Unplug all the connectors from back keeping track of where they fall.
Insert wiring harness into the stock wiring
attach fascia in regards to its packaged instructions.
Place cage from new stereo into the hole in the dash using the tabs on cage to secure it,
Attach stereo to other end of new harness along with aerial (may need adaptor for this also depending on the new head unit.)
Insert stereo into new cage and voila nice new stereo.

I'm trying to remove a JVC car stereo to install an adapter for my iPod, but i don't know how to remove the stereo unit

You need "keys". The "keys" are two strips of metal that are about a quarter inch tall and about 4 inches long. There are two slots that you push them into in order to pull out the radio. Pull off the faceplate if it is detachable, then take off the trim ring. In the middle of the left and right sides there should be slots to slide the keys into, push them in at the same time. This should release the holding tabs and you should be able to pull the radio right out. Before you put the radio back in, make sure to use a screw driver or something to bend the holding tabs back in so that it will definately lock back into place. If you need clarification on any of this let me know. Good luck

How to Remove RAB 250 D

You need the removal keys to remove it from the cradle. They look like flat Allen keys. Remove face plate and put these keys down either side of the cradle.

You can find these at any stereo store.
