Please try to follow the suggestions below.

It is looking for a password (WiFi Network Key) You have to double click on the little computer icon down in the right tool bar area, the one with the two side radiating arcs, and possibly has a small red X under it. The red X indicates that it is NOT connected. When you double click on that icon a window called RT28701 opens up, then you click on Wireless Information tab, then you cursor down to the name of your WiFi and high light it and click the connect box. Then another window opens up called Network Properties. Uncheck "The key is provided automatically" box. This will allow you to type in your "Network Key", the password that protects your network from outsiders. This "KEY" was set up when you installed the router on your server computer. If this does not work at first, turn the machine over on it's back and using a toothpick, insert it into the little hole about an inch diagonally from the right corner of the data plate, this will re-load a new copy of everything including the WiFi RT28701 driver.

sometimes this driver gets confused. See my TIP at: http://www.fixya.com/support/r7350901-fix_synet07526_wifi_flashing

Additional Information

When I try to sign on with the red X showing, I get "The page cannot be displayed If I then double click on the icon down in the right corner I elucidated above, RT28701 opens up to "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) with all zeros in the IP address field, and Subnet Mask, with no entries in the default gateway. That is a clue to me that the auto sign on has not found a viable network or needs something else. If I then click on Wireless Information tab, The list of available networks appear in the box. The machine keeps trying to associate my previous entered name site with my prefered site and tells me the signal is good, but it cannot link up. This is a signal to me that it has lost my Network Key or that the software has failed or both. I then click on advance and delete my prefered network and hit OK, this will force the software to ask me for my network again, and notice that the prefered is missing. I click on the name of my network again and then hit connect., then the Wireless Network properties window opens up and I can insert my Network Key again after I uncheck the "The key is provided automatically" box. I enter the key and hit the OK button. I still do not get a connection, so I reboot the machine, and wait for about 30 seconds and the machine synchs up because the little RED X under the icon has disappeared. Now the machine will hook to the internet as long as I want to, but sometimes when I turn the machine on it will not synch, so I go through the above sequence again. The secret is once you have entered your key and ask for the machine to synch up you have to reboot. Why? I do not exactly know, but I suspect that the WiFi driver looses it

To connect your Iphone to home wifi you should go into the 'Settings' app then there should be a option where you can click on 'Wi-Fi'. If the wifi is on you should see green next to wifi. Under 'Choose a network' select your home wifi. If it is password protected it will ask you to put in your password, if not it should automatically connect.

Why has my mobile phone WiFi stopped working at home?

Open your wifi on the phone and press and hold the wifi network that you want to connect to then click (modify) re-enter the security code for the wifi network again and then connect. If that does not work then the wifi signal is weak and you'll need to get closer to your router.

Another thing is to choose United States for your Wifi Region in the wifi advanced settings menu.
-- uncheck (avoid poor connections)
-- check scanning always available
-- Wifi Region Code (select United States)

I hope that helps

Who can I get wifi outside my home?

One of the first things you need to know is that the internet you use at home is only available at home.
To get an internet connection away from home, you need to go to places that offer a free wifi connection. Some public places like a mall, restaurant - like Starbucks, the Apple Store, and libraries offer free WiFi. Be sure to ask them about it first. because some times there are networks labeled "Free WiFi" but they don't even connect to the internet and really just look to steal your information - so always ask first!

My itouch can't seem to connect to my home wifi. even though i am in range of the wifi, the connection doesn't show up in the wifi settings. how do i fix this problem?!

Has your home wifi got SSID broadcasting disabled? Also check if you can connect to any other wifi points, if you cannot see any others, there may be a fault with the wifi board of your itouch

If your talking about wifi connections. Does your home have a wifi router? If not then you won't connect. Many places have free wifi that you can freely connect too.

When I try to connect via my home wifi network, the error message "No gateway found" appears. I have put in the WEP key.

Hi,

You would receive this message when you are trying to connect to a wifi network if any of this is the problem;

1. The wifi network you are trying to connect to has a connectivity problem and hence you are having that error message.

2. The wifi is available but has not connectivity to the internet.

Sorry this possibly means that your home wifi network has some problems.

Regards

Wifi connection to BT Home Hub problems

Make sure you do not have any third party software running in your taskbar that deals with wifi connection if your trying to use the windows connection. this is what i do. its better, and more simple. Home Hub does not work well with non BT software. If your not sure, turn any wifi connection software off. i.e if any came with your wifi device. and then click on the start button. and click connect to on the right lower side of the start menu. You can use almost any wifi device with these devices. your best bet would be to let windows try to connect to your home hub. Also are you typing in your WEP key. correctly. How far away from the hub is the wifi device. Is windows wireless zero configuration off in system services. unliekly. but worth a look. I have had a home hub for three years and i have to admit they are a nuisence. The BT Voyager wifi works ver well. just in case there is some kind of incompatibility with your device, i highly doubt it though. Good Luck.
