Question about Gateway GT5412 (232587) PC Desktop
Instead of trying to upgrade, try uninstalling the driver completely and installing the driver directly from Intel.
Here is the link for the 64 bit version:
Download Intel Graphics Media Accelerator Driver for Windows Vista 64 exe
Here is the link for the 32 bit version:
Download Intel Graphics Media Accelerator Driver for Windows Vista 32 exe
These are for version 22.214.171.1244

A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Take your Agp card with you to the shop. You do not need to go through Gateway, but there are serveal formats of AGP regarding the voltages.
By the sounds of it you have the newer version of AGP so finding a replacement card won't be a problem. The only real issue you have is AGP cards cost a lot more then their PCI-e conterparts.
Going from a GeForce 4, look for something like an FX5700 or even a 6200. Don't let the sales guys get in your ear either. Putting any higher video card then these in your current system and your wasting your money.

SOURCE: due to some microsoft updates
if you have zone alarm on your computer, the problem is that there is a conflict with the new microsoft update and zone alarm
click on start, control panel, internet options, and then the security tab
drop the security settings down to low and see if you can go online. If you can, it is definately the new microsoft update conflict.
Go to www.zonealarm.com after you get online and click on the yellow section on the right down towards the bottom middle-ish. Zone alarm is aware of the problem and has come out with a patch to fix it. Just click on the link provided and reload the product you purchased and wahla, you back in business my freind.
