The Samsung HT-C6530 receiver automatically switches from HDMI 1 input (satalite TV) to HDMI 2 (XBOX). Is there something wrong with the receiver or the HDMI cables?

Try unplugging both the cables, turning the receiver off, plugging one in and turning it back on. Repeat with the other cable. Switch out the cables. If you can't switch between them there is a problem with your receiver.

I just want to hook up my JVC receiver to my Samsung to Tv so I can play the tv through the receiver and take advantage of my speaker system I have HDMI in both

Your Samsung TV does not have an HDMI out put. So unless you have a cable box or satalite box you will not be able to run the sound through your receiver via HDMI. If you do have a box, then run the HDMI cable from the Box to the Reciver input. And a cable from the reciever output to the TV input. This will feed the sound through the reciever and the picture will pass through to your TV. Hope this helps.

I'm trying to set up my Onkyo HT-r380 receiver (which came in the HT-S330 home theater system). I can get AM and FM radio to play on all the speakers. I can not get sound from my XBOX 360. The 360 is...

I looked at the manual and they provided the following settings.

To listen to audio received by the HDMI IN jacks through your TV's speakers:
  • Set the "TV Control" setting to "On" (? 37) for an p-compatible TV.
  • Set the "Audio TV OUT" setting to "On" (? 36) when the TV is not compatible with p or the "TV Control" setting to "Off".
  • Set your Blu-ray Disc/DVD player's HDMI audio output setting to PCM.
  • To listen to TV audio through the AV receiver, see "Connecting External Components" (? 17).

Connected samsung ht x720 (home cinema system 2.1) to v+ box.Cant get picture when playing a DVD.Can hear the sound tough. Thanks

You probably need to change the incoming input signal on your tv.

In other words, your audio is coming directly out from your dvd player, and going directly to the audio power amp.

Your video does the same thing, except it goes to your tv. Your tv has multiple places for "incoming" signals to hook in to it. Take a look at where you're hooking your video in - the input should be marked ... something like "Component 1" "Component 2" "HDMI 1" "HDMI 2" ... something like that.

On your remove, there will be a button that says, "Input." When you push this, you will see that your TV brings up an input selection window. Pressing the "input" button on your remote should scroll through the ports on the tv. Briefly pause on each input selection to see if it begins receiving a video signal from your DVD player.

Cable TV blinks on and off when connected to my Onkyo receiver.

I have the same problem.  It only occurs with my HD DVR (HDMI cable), not my blue ray (HDMI cable), or my xbox and wii (component video).  Video and audio cutout is random and drives the family nuts.  I am desperate for a solution.

Is the TV a Samsung as well? Check both devices to see if you have "Anynet+" is on, if so turn it off.

Xbox 360

There are a couple of options you can use.

Are your DVD and cable actually going to the Onkyo first and then to the TV? I am assuming it is, if you listen to the Onkyo when watching a DVD or cable.

The Onkyo receiver you have has 2 hdmi inputs and 1 hdmi output.

Does your Xbox360 have an hdmi output and that is what you want to connect to the Onkyo? Some do and some don't.

If your Xbox has a hdmi output and you are already using the 2 hdmi inputs on the Onkyo, you can not connect the Xbox using the hdmi, you have no more hdmi to connect to, so you must go thru one of the other inputs of the Onkyo.

The hdmi has the video and audio together, the other video options do not. you would need to run seperate audio cables as well.
Your Xbox should have a composite video (yellow RCA jack) output or a component video (1 red, 1 blue, 1 green RCA jack) output.

When you connect the Xbox thru, lets say the composite video of the Onkyo , you will also need to connect the audio from the Xbox to the Onkyo on the same input. It should be right next to the yellow RCA jack or right under it. They are 2 RCA jacks, one red and one white.

You will then need to connect the composite output of the Onkyo to the composite input of the TV.

When connecting like this, you will also need to select the composite input on your TV with your remote for your TV. Your TV should have an input button that lets you go thru all the different inputs to it.

you can also use the component video from the Xbox if it has that. But you must also run the audio to the Onkyo as well to the corresponding audio inputs of the component video input on the Onkyo.

This may sound a little confusing, but remember that the hdmi has the audio and video in one cable, the other video options do not, so you must run additional cables for the audio to the Onkyo from the Xbox.

Also remember whichever video you use from the Xbox to the Onkyo, you must also run that same video from the Onkyo to the TV and then switch the TV over to that input when you want to watch the Xbox on the TV

Connecting a Samsung HT-Z310 home cinema to a Series 5 Samsung TV and Games consoles, will only work with DVD currently. How do I get the cinema system to work for TV and consoles?

Do you have an Optical Audio cable going from the A/V receiver to the TV? If not, you need to get one. Since the HT-Z310 only has HDMI output and no input there is not audio bypass. Once you connect an Optical Audio cable from the receiver to the TV, anything that goes through the TV (cable audio, PS3 or Xbox 360, DVDs, Radio) will go through the receiver, too.

Mitsubishi HDMI connection trouble

I have the same issue with my 73". Rather then going over all of my connections and equipment I'll just say htat I feel your frustration. I have been on the phone with Mitsubishi directly and it appears as though they have a free software upgrade that should address this problem. If you call 1-800-332-2119 and press 4 in the menu you will get someone to help you. Be patient. They will make you go through all of the fixes that you have already tried. They will mail you a flash drive that goes right into the front USB port of your TV. I hope this is of help. Good luck.

Onkyo TX-SR605 conected to Mitsubishi DLP TV

What I think I did and how I fixed it!

FACTORY RESET ON EVERYTHING!

All you have to do is to do a factory reset on everything, but I thing mostly on your 605, but I would do it on the TV as well. I think what had happened is after I set everything up for the first time, it worked great. As the days when on I started to play with all of the futures the 605 and the TV had to offer. I was turning them on and off to see what everything did. What I think I did was, I turned on something in the 605 that the TV did not know how to cope with. If I had to guess, I think it is the Lip-sink feature (Spelling?) in the 605.

Anyway disconnect everything, look in your manuals of the TV and the 605 to see how to do the factory reset on both. Then turn your TV on. After it does it’s start up for the first time (again), start connecting the 605.

It has been working great for me after I did this. Do not count on help from the people you bought it from or the people who made it. This stuff is so new they do not really know how to fix it.
