Question about Bissell Vacuums

It isn't sucking up things like it use to. Where the Hepa filter is it is blowing out to much air. I need it to blow less and **** more.

Not knowing the model number of your vaccum a lot of problems stem from a clogged or partially clogged suction hose. If your model has a suction hose remove it completely from the back of the vaccum at both ends. Hold it out staraight and look for a clog. Pine needles, hair, paper, small sticks, etc. Once cleaned that should do it. Let me know, OK?
Good luck and thanks for your question and I hope my suggestions help. burdfrenzy

Hose is cleaned and we even took it apart to get hair clear of the belt and it is still having issues. That's why I'm so confused about what's wrong.

OK Then you have a blockage in the colection tank pipe. Take everything apart that you are able to. I've taken these apart down to the motor. It's not that hard of a job if you write down where the parts go as you take them off. You have a hidden blockage or an apart connection somewhere.

I want to know WHY my HEPA filter and cover blow off my unit with force each time I turn the unit on and start sweeping...Help?

Vacuum cleaners actually blow air through the filtration system. Over time particles will block the pores in the filter which doesn't allow enough air to pass through it and pressure will build up behind the filter and has to go 'somewhere'. Either clean the filter or replace it, and be certain to properly reinstall the assembly before turning it on.

Vacuum appears to be blowing dust out rather than sucking up dust

Check Hepa Filter if it has one or other resevoir for excess dust/dirt. Clean receptacle and replace filter.

Just purchased Dyson DC33. There is air blowing out between the top of the plastic cover of the Hepa filter and base of the dust collector bin. Is this normal or? I have made sure the Hepa cover is tight...

Hi there,

I can confirm that the air you've noticed blowing out of the cleaner is simply the HEPA-filtered exhaust air being expelled back into the room. It's a feature of the cleaner's design, and is nothing to be concerned about.

My hoover upright started blowing instead of vacuuming; it blows out of the attachment connection also when I try to use that.

Is this a bagless vacuum? Some Hoovers work in the opposite from conventional designs; the dirt is blown into dirt cup instead of sucked into a paper bag. If you have this type of vacuum, check the HEPA filter (and any prefilter, if applicable) and gently clean it so as not to damage the filter media.

If this does not help, please resubmit your request with a model number.

Good luck from Detroit, MI.

Hepa filter stopped on Hoover Windtunnel 2 Model #U8361-900

This has a simple solution IF you have a air compressor with a high pressure nozzle. Outside the house, first remove the Dust bin completely and lay the unit down with the dust bin area up. now start blowing the nozzle at the hepa filter, Alot of dust will come out. Now start to rotate the filter while blowing the dust out. The filter will move one way easier, When there is no more dust reinstall the dustbin and check the suction and the rotation of the filter.
