No, a burned lamp would cause the power source of the tv to go in reduced mode and that would be clearly identifiable by the blinking lights on the status and lamp indicators.
If the tv is dead (no lights whatsoever)it means that the power source has failed completely - this is a big defect, that must be investigated by a pro: the origin of the failure must be found and the faulty part replaced replaced or any new part you just put in blindly will be instantly fried. At least the power source board will have to be replaced and that will cost you around $250.

WD-62525, continous amber lamp light. No picture. Lamp is good.

Hello:

Make sure u replace the lamp cover as the safety switch need to be closed to make the set work. If new lamp did not repair your problem , then it may well be the Ballast Board, Sometimes call the Lamp Driver.

Replaced wd-62525 lamp, picture dim

Cleaning the mirrors will not increase the brightness much. I would double check the lamp setting in the Menu and also the setting of the picture and brightness settings. Many times these are adjustable independently for different inputs. Besides this, I would look at the Ballast and or the Power Supply to cause the problem. I would recommend a professional to look at it if it is not correctable from the Main Menu of the set.
Hope this helps,

Newlamp went out in 20 days. lamp light blinks. is lamp dead now?

Biggest problem with DLP tv's is they get dirty (the usually have two or more fans...one in the back w/filter and one under the lamp). If air-flow is restricted the life of the lamp is in jeopardy. Verify air flow & clean filter(s). Replace lamp with exact P/N..not those that say they "are equivalent"...they are not. Also, be sure the lamp lens is very clean.

Mitsubishi WD-62525 DLP has no picture

Here's something that might also be useful. After you turn on the set, and get the regular red blinky lights, hold down the Device and Menu buttons together for about 5 seconds.
The Power light will start to flash in a two digit sequence.

For example, 3 flashes, then 7 flashes = 37.

Here are the error codes, and the corresponding problem:

12 = No error detected, check power supply.
32 = Lamp Cover is open.
33 = Air filter cover is open.
34 = Lamp abnormality
36 = Light Engine (DMD or Lamp Fan stopped)
37 = Exhaust or Lamp Ballast Fan stopped
38 = Lamp Temperature High
39 = DMD Temperature High
41 = Short is detected
44 = DVI cable between FMT and Engine disconnected
