Question about Bosch 23 in. SHU303 Built-in Dishwasher

Aggravating loss of power

We own a Bosch dishwasher that started having problems when it began to slip out of the built-in space. Now, the dishwasher will start just fine, but will mysteriously shut down mid cycle on a regular basis. I can get the cycle completed only by opening the door, letting the dishwasher cool, then re-locking the sytem. It will start again where it left off.

Is this an electrical problem or is the dishwasher broken?

It sounds like a heat sensor is being tripped (or shorted)

    Can you try a cool wash cycle to see if the washer still shuts down midway? If it does not, that clearly indicates a heat sensor issue.

My Bosch dishwasher was not installed with an "

From an internet posting ::

The purpose of the air gap is too prevent back-flow and siphoning, and newer dishwashers (past 20 + years) have back flow preventers built in and looping the drain hose (not a circle, but an upside down u to the top of the cabinet or behind/side of dishwasher) prevents siphoning. Aside form being ugly space wasters the cheap air gaps have a tendency to spit and cough water out.

Dishwasher does not complete cycle

The problem is the timer/control. I checked for a recall but your model wasn't on the list. Many of these had a recall for the control, they were a fire hazard. Heres a link to help install the timer/control http://appliancehelponline.com/dishwashercontrol.html. When you remove the front panel there will be to plastic hinge covers be sure to reinstall these they help keep it quiet. They just slip over the hinge. The rest of the removal will be the same.

Bosch Dishwasher will not power on

I saw my repair man do the following, which you might try...
Open the door and simultaneously press & hold down the power button with the 2 buttons used on your model to "Cancel & Drain." If the unit comes on it now is in self-diagnosis mode. Release the buttons and close the door. The unit should start to fill with water. Press the power button to exit the mode.

Bosch dishwasher wont drain

You can check the drain or the filter. You will have to pull it out of the space it is now to access it. Items will get stuck in the drain clogging it.

Latch stuck on bosch dishwasher

We removed the front door. Where the latch is located, there was a white piece with a pin sticking out and a cross bar that was held in place by the white piece. We used a screwdriver to open a space in the white piece so that the cross bat could slip out the bottom of the white piece. Then, we could push from behind on the metal part that had the pin. The metal part rotated and released the latch. We then replaced the cross bar into the white piece. Be careful -- the solution worked to unlatch the latch, but our diswasher still doesn't close well during the wash cycle.
