Question about Panasonic Televison & Video

1 Answer

I have a Panasonic TX-L37D25BA coupled to a TVONICS PVR. They work perfectly together. I have recently been given a TopUp TV card and CAM which I have inserted into the Common Interface slot on the TV. Through the Set-up menu, I can see that the Common Interface has recognised the CAM/card, and that it has been activated. Yet invariably when I switch on the TV, I get the message "No Service" on every channel. If I remove the CAM/card, everything is perfect. Any thoughts on what I may have done wrong/what I can do to get the TV to actually show a picture - without removing the CAM/Card (which slightly defeats the point of having it in the first place!)?

Hi there.
With the CAM/Card inserted, try doing a re-tune on the TV tuner.
Hope this helps

Strangely, when I switched on my TV last night, the service worked, including the CAM/card channel! But this morning it was back to the "No Service" message. So I followed the advice above - which wiped all my channels from my TV. I removed the CAM/card, and re-tuned the TV without them, and got all the other channels back. I've tried switching it off at the mains, removing the CAM/card, re-inserting it, switching back on at the mains - over and over. Switched on the TV at lunchtime - "No Service". Switched it on mid-afternoon without doing anything - hey presto it worked. Had to switch it off while I was busy doing other things, went to switch it back on this evening and it's back to "No Service". Mighty frustrating

For those people with an IDTV (a TV set with a built-in Digital TV receiver), it used to be possible to receive the TopUp TV channels. To do this, you needed to plug a CAM (Card reader), into a CI slot in your telly.
As we outline elsewhere on this page, Top Up TV no longer sell subscription cards, as they're now selling Top Up TV Anytime, which makes use of a special set-top box. To get the Top Up TV service, you need to buy a Top Up TV Anytime box, which can be plugged into your TV set using a SCART lead.

TVonics DVR FP 250 hard drive fault

This is a indication of a hard drive failure you could run a program called spinright on this its a small investment of $50 bucks but does save hard drives and 9 times out of 10 puts them back in business. But when in doubt replace the hard drive as if trying the format it does not work its safe to assume that you need a new drive. Thanks please do rate.
