Lens is stuck

Lens error 122100. I would rather try to fix it myself since the camera is worth probably less than the repair cost. If it's not possible no big deal. The lens is stuck: is there anything I can do to fix it?

The lens won't open. Was fine on the 9th, and the next day I pushed the button in and nothing happened. The batteriess were tested and still good; even tried other batteries.

I have the same camera but i have dropped my before and it wouldn't go back in or turn on, so my mom told me to plug it in and charge it. I let it charge over night and in the morning when i un-plugged it it was working againn. it just seemed to be when dropped it the batteries life was sucked out of it and it needed to be chargedd! :)

El error 122100 es cuando el lente de la camara no ha salido en forma correcta.... coloque la camara en forma horizontal y observe que esta desnivelada.... trate de que salfga completamente el lente y seguira funcionando con normalidad

Try to find the part that is not straight and just pull on it a little to straighten the lens out and it should work. I did it to my camera and it works just fine now.

I have a lens error on my canon powershot sd1300 and i have no warenty. how can i fix it myself???

Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ... Here are some troubleshooting steps that you can try that may (or may not) correct it. They only seem to work for less than 40% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty (or repair cost approaches that of the camera), they're worth that try. Some of the later steps do involve some risk to the camera, so carefully weigh your options before deciding to conduct them:
