Question about RIM BlackBerry Bold 9700 Smartphone
You more than likely need service books. i have the same phone and have delt with the exact same issue. first take out the battery with the phone on and leave it out for 45 seconds. next open your messages and delete all that you can. you can highlight the date in your inbox and select menu and then delete prior and it will empty your inbox. this will work! thank you!!

Uh one, that's not how you get service books. Where you go to delete service books is Options > Advanced Options > Service Books. On the off chance it might be service book related, you'll want to delete the MMS transport and MMS client service books, pull the battery and when your device powers back up, you should have the service books back.
Two, SMS messages are carrier related, not Blackberry Infrastructure related. Clearing out your messages database (by doing the aforementioned delete prior) might work but it's not guaranteed.

Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
