Question about Televison & Video
Take a flashlight and shine it on the screen and see if you can see anything in the way of a picture. IF you can then the backlight inverter is burned out. Or if the screen had been having an orange tint then the lights themselves are out. Since you still have sound it is unlikely that you are having an issue with the power supply. The thing is that the light bulbs are changeable but I dont recommend that you do it. THe inverter is something that you could do if you wanted to. Armed with this information you can call an authorized service center and order the parts or get estimates to have it fixed.

Connect a DVD player to the TV and see if there would be picture. Also, if its connected to a cable receiver, check the video cord/wire, make sure it is intact that the video cord is not defective. You can replace the cord with another to actually confirm.
If there is still no picture after trying the above, then it means the fault is from the TV. The picture board of the TV might be defective and maybe that's why its not showing any display. The display board need to be replaced for the TV to display picture again. Check the below picture to actually find out what it looks like.
Since you are able the identify the picture with the below image, get a screw driver open the TV back cover, remove the display board and replace it with another.
Note that TV stores a lot current, so wait a while before opening the TV's back cover.
But if you know that you cannot carry out this task, please call someone you feel can help you out or take the TV to the nearest repair man within your vicinity to help in carrying out this task.
