Question about Insignia Televison & Video

1 Answer

Thank you for your help. I am a technological dummy. I have the 32" flat screen hd with the blu-ray/dvd player built in (the combo). I just purchased it. I am only operating it as a dvd player. Everything is set up and programmed. I am in the blu-ray mode, I load the disc, the upper right hand corner shows "disc loading" and then its says "no disc," and , of course, won't play. Again thank you. Regards, Alan Zeidman

    Dear TV Doctors,

I reversed the discs. In fact, I tried 3 different discs and the blu ray still does not work. I also checked the compatibility of the discs with the information in the user's guide and the discs should be compatible. They are from Blockbuster. What do you suggest I do next?

I did not answer sooner because my computer is at work the tv/dvd player is at home.

    Regards,
    Alan Zeidman

    Dear Sir,

Your solution did not solve the problem. I called Best Buy and they told me to return the Insignia and they would swap it for a new one.

Thanks any way for your efforts.

    Regards,

    Alan Zeidman

Hi there.
Have you tried putting the disc in the other way around? Sounds simple i know, but sometimes it can be. Otherwise check that it is a compatible DVD disc, ie the correct region/zone.
Hope this helps

Which dvd player is good to be purchased?? I use original DVDs and copied ones also

I like the kind that can play numerous formats and has a USB slot for movies downloaded from the internet. Sony has always been my player of choice. Panasonic is a good one as well.

Check disc

The DVD player's laser pickup assembly is intermittent and since it is brand new and under warranty take it back for replacement. There should be no issue with your TV set.

I have DMEZ 47V DVD recorder/VCR combo and panasonic digital/ HD tv...when I set up to pre record the equipment seems to accept the information ok but when i try to playback all i get is ..."cannot...

The reason for this is simple; the built-in digital tuner does not support HD, only SD. You cannot fix it, at least not economically where the recorder combo is concerned. But you can obtain a separate HD set top box, and connect the outputs of it to the inputs of your combo if you really want to record HD channels. It's crude, but cheaper and easier in the long term, and it doesn't damage your machine.

I have a 32" HD widescreen LCD TV/DVD combo. TDA03211c. When I put a dvd in to play it makes a noise and puts some digital garbage on the screen. Will not play dvds.

Sounds like the DVD player is defective. Just food for thought.. Try not invest in any make with a built in DVD player, they just don't last.

Tv/dvd combo

The DVD built in, is a standard DVD player. I don't think Blu Ray or HD-DVD was standardized at the time, and if they were, were quite expensive at the time.

Won't play hd dvd

Blu-Ray will never play HD-DVD's, and HD-DVD's will never play Blu-Ray - they are competing technologies. Sorry.
