Question about Cameras

Without knowing the make and model of camera I'm just going to guess you are using an SD type memory card and the card has been set to the "Lock" position most likely by accident. I have a diagram that can explain it faster then I can write it.
After downloading pictures to a computer Hard Drive the memory card should also be formatted for the camera it is being used in each time.
