I would suggest to check the vertical section of the TV and you will more likely find a defective vertical amplifier IC.
The part markings should LA7837 or 38.
Let me know if you need further assistance.

  • Jaime Hernandez Jul 09, 2008

I forgot to mention to check the capacitors and resistors that are in the vertical circuitry connected to the vertical amplifier IC.

    Good Luck.

hi,
ur tv has problem with vertical scanning section. may be dry soldering or vertical output ic faulty.
check for any dry soldering in that section. mainly the soldering of vertical ic. if see or not re-solder the leads of the vertical ic . then check is the tv is ok or not. if complaint remains replace the vertical scanning out pout ic. it will be fitted on a aluminum heat sink in the vertical section. u can see the heat sink on which the ic is mounted in the picture ( in side the small green circle). if u need more assistance feel free to contact through fixya.

Ajin

No picture, sound ok except buzzing noise, some light in vertical stripe center of screen

your vertical drive would have failed or lost connection in the pcb.Only if you are familiar with high voltage electronics do attempt. or else this could be aminor issue , to resolder the vertical drive, vertical power failure or drive. A quick votage check into this vertical section will confirm and the sweep can be retained.

Screen shrinkage

The vertical shrinkage is a fault in the vertical deflection circuit, suggest replacing capacitors around that area along with a vertical output IC. I can provide more info if you've got some electronics experience and going to try and tackle it.

thats a sign of vertical deflection failure. Try resoldering the vertical output ic. The fall may have cracked the vertical output solder joints or cracked the chassis in the vertical section circuitry.

Picture shows only about a 2-3" blue, green,or red vertical line down the middle

If your seeing vertical line across the screen you need to check the components in the vertical stage as well as the vertical IC could be bad, or the yoke could open.
Also check if any voltage reaching the vertical stage.

Good luck.

Was this help full.
