Does it have battery voltage from the fuel pump relay ? Do you know how to check automotive electrical circuits ? Viewing a wiring diagram an using a DVOM - digital volt ohmmeter to test is the proper way to see why it doesn't work . Your best bet mite be to have a qualified repair shop check it out . The fuel pump relay is controlled by the PCM - engine computer . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=McnXLcJNVfI
Has the filter ever been changed? Need to know year and model of the truck. Fuel filters can be near the tank or under the hood. Filters are usually separate from the fuel pump.
Hi,
Your sending unit on fuel pump is faulty, wired incorrectly or installed improperly. Dinking is probably low fuel warning from instrument cluster. Check wiring from fuel sender with ohms meter to ground. Make sure you have a good connection at the tank coupler/splice. Test from wire there at tank. Should get increased ohms reading as level is dropped. Shake vehicle/tank to make level vary from fuel sloshing around. If the reading fluctuates, may be bad connection to wiring harness. If not, its faulty. Take pump/sender out and get new one on warranty from parts store......Mike
You should have a relay or a fuse, I forgot the number but it is located under the hood of the vehicle, the fuse may be located itself under the drivers dashboard
NOW POWER TO IT OR BAD GROUND OR CLUGED FUEL FILTER ORBAD FUEL RELAY SWITCH THE PUMP SHOULDN;T BE BAD IN AN 06 IT COULD BE IT SHOULDN;T BE CHECK FOR POWER TO THE PUMP IT SELF ITS THE FIRST PLACE TO START IF THE PUMP IS PUMPING DISCONNECT THE LINE AT THE FILTER TO SEE IF YOU HAVE FUEL FLOW AND JUST WORK YOUR WAY UP THE SYSTEM THERES KNOW EASY ANSWER IF YOU WANT TO DO IT YOUR SELF JUST BE LOGICAL AND MAKE SURE YOUR TEST ARE GIVEING THE ANSWER THAT YOU NEED DO THE EASYEST TESTS FIRST AND REPLACE PARTS LAST GOOD LUCK
your statement is fuel pump work ok, have you tested for proper fuel pressure. just because the fuel pump works it could have less pressure needed to start the engine. maybe the fuel filter is plugged. start out by replacing the fuel filter, if this doesn't fix it, you need to pressure test the pump. even 10 psi reduction in pressure will allow the engine not to start.
check to see if the injectors are working, what engine do you have? and what kind of fuel pressure are you getting? check fuses for the injector circuit, if your fuel pump is working and you know your spark is good, the next thing to check would be the injector system
