Question about Nintendo DS Lite Console
This is a very common problem for the Nintendo DS. What usually causes it is bent, damaged or worn pins within the slot where the cards are inserted. While this is not the end of the world, repairing this problem can be a little bit of a challenge. You can purchase a new card reader from places like ebay, you require something like this -
If you are pretty good with a soldering iron then you should be able to replace this part quite easily, however if you are unsure and have a friend that deals with electronics then it may be better to let them change it as the old socket has about 15 pins that are surface mounted onto the DS motherboard. Careful desoldering is needed. I have personally changed many of these and not had a problem myself but if you are not confident please dont attempt it!
I hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa
