SOURCE: angle grinder

on a grinder the nut that holds the wheel on has left handed threads.....that means it has to be turned in the opposite direction than conventional nuts do..there should be a button on the casing to hold in..this keeps the grinding wheel from turning wheel being removed....remember to unplug first..thanks and have a great day

check inside for any loose connections plus check the brushes. if like you say it is smoking it could be a trip to the wheelie bin for that one.

The switch can be repaired if you have the patience. There are four springs inside and some contacts, which should be cleaned. The small springs are place under the contacts and the large springs fit on the end of the metal blade that is attached to the switch button, and the other end of each spring fits on a plastic spigot on the inside of the smaller switch housing. The switch is best assembled on the trigger and the outer housing placed over it once everything is in place.
Like I said earlier, patience is the key!

Disc removal

The button does not disengage the blade, it only locks the blade/motor from spinning so you can remove the locking nut. Lock the spindle/motor/ blade, from moving and then remove the locking nut or disk. Should be counter-clockwise.

Hi...I have a Black and Decker 4247 angle grinder that I haven't changed the disc on in YEARS...I can't remember if the clamp nut is right hand threaded or left...please help! Thanks lots!

Which ever way your grinder spins when turned on is the same direction the lock nut has to be turned to remove it. This makes sure it's self tightening when in use. More often than not they're right-tight, left-loose.

I have a D28110 angle grinder and I want to use a 1/8"cutting disc with it. Do I need a different guard than what it came with?

haven't heard of a different guard for the cutting disc you want to use. Most people remove the guard when using them

How do i change a disc on a angle grinder

There is a small button that locks out the shaft (where the disk attaches). You will need to push and hold down the button while you use the wrench provided to remove the retaining screw (there should be 4 holes in the retaining screw). It is a standard lefty loosy, righty tight. Good luck

I borrowed a B&D 7750 3 to cut off the legs on a wire shelf system. I would like to replace the grinding disc but it appears to need a special tool to remove the disc. Is that correct? The owner says...

Yes you need an angle grinder spanner/wrench. It is like a tool with two pins that fit in the holes of the grinder disc securing nut. You can see a picture of one here: http://images.toolspot.co.uk/Angle%20Grinder%20Accessories/Angle%20Grinder%20Spanner%20For%20412in.jpg

They do come in different sizes, but you can also buy adjustable ones. Your best bet is to take the grinder to the local hardware store, big box outlet or anywhere power tools are sold and they should have a grinder spanner to suit your grinder.

Angle grinder issue

Do you have the securing nut on the correct way? Basically the inner surface of the nut needs to be flat against the blade for it to work correctly and hold the cutting disc in place Usually the nuts are reversible to fit either flat discs or rounded disc heads. It's either that or you do not have the right size bore on the diamond disc for your grinder.
