It sounds like you need to adjust your down limit switch and/or perhaps your motor force settings. If the limit switch is not in the sweet spot along the rail it can be triggering too soon or not in time. In your case it could be too far down the rail and thus not stopping/slowing the motor in time. Your door is then being pushed against the floor too hard. Your safety/return force is goes way over limit and tells the opener to go back. While closing your door look at your rail and if its bending when the door hits the ground, this is definitely happening. After finding the sweet spot for your down limit switch, you can readjust your return/safety force per your opener manual.

My genie pulled the door up and it will not go down I can hear the relay clicking but the door will not go down. Both sensor leds at the bottom of the door are on.

Try holding the button down on the wall. If it closes, you definitely have an issue with the safety eyes. This overrides the eyes. Both eyes need to be solid and not blinking

My door will open and close completely, then the next time it only begins to close ,goes about 12 inches then reverses..what is wrong with it

Try turning your down force up alittle higher if your door is only wanting to go down a foot or so. If your light bulbs are flashing, you then have a problem with the safety eyes.

I push the button and the door goes up but i push it to go down and it stops and the light starts blinking but it will go down if i hold the button until its all the way down

holding the button over rides the safety and is not advised until you know the door is free from obstructions and afe to operate. disconnect door from motor and be sure it operates smoothly. reconnect and check safety eyes at bottom right and left of door tracks. should be green and yellow lights( liftmaster) check the downward pressure setting on the rear of motor. it may need to be increased slightly

4 FLASHES TELLS YOU THAT THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE SAFETY EYES.

THEY MAY BE OUT OF ALIGNMENT OR HAVE A DIRTY LENS.

BE SURE THE EYES ARE CLEAN, MOUNTED SOLDILY AND AIMED CAREFULLY.

THE LEDS SHOULD BE LIT BRIGHT AND STEADY (NO FLASHING OR FLICKER)

NOTE: IF SAFETY EYES ARE MOUNTED TO THE TRACK THEY MAY MOVE OUT OF ADJUSTMENT AS THE DOOR GOES UP AND DOWN. - ADJUST TRACK

HOPE THIS HELPS

HOLDING DOWN THE WALL BUTTON OVERRIDES THE SAFETY EYES.
WHEN HOLDING IT DOWN MAKES THE DOOR CLOSE PROPERLY THE PROBLEM IS IN THE SAFETY EYES.

ARE BOTH LEDS ON? - CHECK FOR A LOOSE OR BROKEN WIRE.
ARE THE EYES WIRED CORRECTLY?
ARE THEY AIMED AT EACH OTHER?

I WOULD RECOMMEND GETTING A SURGE PROTECTOR FOR THE NEXT TIME.

When you push either the remote or the switch at the door, the garage door will go down almost to the bottom and then come back up and the light will blink several times. This does not happen all the time....

Your safety reversing sensors must be connected and aligned correctly before the garage door opener will close. An obstruction in the path of the sensor will also cause your door to not close.
This sensor is an electronic beam, which is sent between two sending and receiving “eyes”. These eyes face each other and are located just inside your garage door. They may need to be adjusted so the beam from the sending eye is properly detected by the receiving eye. Once the receiving eye “sees” the beam from the sending eye, a green indicator light will glow on the top of the eye.

We have 2 sensors. 1 has a green light and the other has no light

Your safety eyes are out of ajustment. Make sure that the eyes are pointing directly at each other. A light will come on on each eye when they are properly aligned. The only other thing that could be wrong is that one of the safety eyes could be bad, and the only thing you can do is replace the eyes. 99% of the time the problem is an alignment issue. By holding down the wall button, you are overriding the safety eyes.

Remote does not open or close garage door; inside button flashes

What has happened is that you electric eyes are blocked or have gone out. The eyes are at the garage door about a foot of the ground on both sides. There should be a red or green light on one of them. If not some thing is blocking the beam that goes across the door. It is a safety beam so kids can nt get hurt when the door is coming down. If the beam is broke the door will go back up.
