SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.
If that doesn't work, try another card.

SOURCE: i m getting a "CARD LOCKED please

There should be a switch on the side of the card - slide it to the other position, and it should work.

SD Card Problems with Vivitar Vivicam 5118!

What size is the memory card. If it's larger than 4GB then it won't work in the 5118.
Try using another card. Don't format it in your computer but do format it in the camera before trying to take pictures.

Memory Stick Duo 512MB. Where are no pictures on the card, but it says that "were is no space" when I put it in the camera. What should I do?

First make sure the card is not locked. Do this by checking on the side of the card that the lock notch is not in the locked position. If it is not locked then you should put the card in your computer and reformat it. If this isn't successful then its time to go get a new card. You can get a new one for under $20.

Hello drlokeshyada,
Please be sure the card you are using is between 2GB to 8GB, class 4 speed or higher. If your card meets these specifications, then this may be a card compatibility issue. Please try a different card brand as sometimes a certain brand may not be compatible with a certain electronic device.

My camera would not allow me to delete pictures on my card, the screen flashes "write protect" when I press the trash button

You didn't specify the make and model of your camera, so I'm going to assume it uses SD/SDHC cards. If not, please reply to this post and specify the make and model of the camera.

SD/SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If this doesn't do it, try another card.

My new canon eos 60d will not format my new promaster memory card, Message keeps coming back " system busy please wait" did it four times and waited over 30 mins per time

The 60D unlike it's predecessors uses an SD/SDHC card I'm not familiar with the "Promaster" brand of memory card but what all SD cards has is a little lock on the side it's a little white switch that needs to be slide forward to the top of the card to unlock. Once done the card should perform the same way as a Compact Flash card.

If this is not the problem I would suspect a faulty card

You can take the SD card and try it on your PC, if this wont read then there are errors on the card as it is not detected.
There is a tiny protect swittch on the side of the card , please check the psottion of this switch and see if this has created the issue. If not place the camera ON for some time as the set was stored for some time. The fault might clear if the electronics come back to original state when energised for sometime.
