Ds lite wi fi connect wpa

Try changing your WiFi encription to WEP or no security, this should be available on your cablemodem/router web internface (need a user and password for that) under the Wireless/Security option.

DS Lite is not compatible with any other WiFi encription for online gaming: "Important note about the Nintendo DSi and WPA security: While the Nintendo DSi is compatible with WPA security, Nintendo DS games with online play still require the use of WEP or no security to connect with the Nintendo WFC. Therefore, your connection settings for using these games must be set up on slots 1-3. If you need more details on using your adjusting your router's settings, click here and select your router (if available).

To connect to your wireless router, the router's wirelesssettings needs to be configured with the SSID, encryption etc. and also thewireless cards in all the laptops/computers needs to be configured with theserouter's wireless settings. Then the laptops/desktop computers can communicatewith your wireless router.
Connect a LAN cable from the Linksys to the LAN port on your computer.
Open a browser and enter the Linksys configuration URL
The default login = admin
The default PW = admin
You can protect your router by changing the default admin PW (write it down andput it in a safe place)
Go to the wireless configuration and set up the SSID and WPA or WPA2encryption.
Apply these settings to the wireless card in your laptop/computer.
To secure your wireless network from unauthorized access, please click on thislink and follow my instructions :-

Check to see the wireless LAN card driver is enable and working, if not reinstall the wireless driver.
Theencryption key secures your data from unauthorized access. The router's password is a Passphrase or the WEP or WPA orWPA2 encryption key. The Passphrase generates the WEP or WPA or WPA2 encryptionkey and this is in the router's wireless settings. To connect to your wireless router, configure the router'swireless settings ie SSID, plus the WPAor WPA2 encryption key and then configure wireless cards in the laptops and orcomputers with these router's wireless settings. Then the laptops and desktopcomputers can communicate with your wireless router.

Hi this is miguel my problem is that i have the wi fi and is unsecured i want to protected and i dont know how to do it

probably you need to coonect to your wifi router and set a password
go to start click run type in cmd and when you press enter you will get a DOS box (black and white text) type IPconfig and press enter in the box
if it scrolls past fast scroll up to a place where it says Default gateway under your wireless adapter connection (you may have more than one such as ethernet etc.)
this will be a number something like
type this number into the URL bar of your internet browser (where it says blah now)
it should prompt you with your routers config page it may ask for a password, if you have not set one try admin admin otherwise look up your router here and it should tell you the username and password
once in
find the section for router wireless options select WPA (it easier) and type in a phrase that you will remember. set or apply save and exit where possible.
the next time you connect to your wireless conection it will prompt you for this phrase. (only once then your laptop will be paired and it wont ask again) anyone else trying to connect will get the same, unless they know your WEP password then they wont get on.

Cannot connect to the internet with my w-fi, I have put in the appropriate passwords etc to no avail, it keeps scanning for IP address. kaleidoscope639

Is there a DHCP server running? Like a router with DHCP enabled? How does your laptop connect? do you have a fixed IP address for the computers/laptops? What kind of encription are you using ? WPA ? WEP ? none ? Set a fixed IP within the same range and try again.

Just hooked up the router to my pc and put in the install disc that came with it, the Belkin program won't open on my computer and the laptop I'm using shows it as an available wireless connection put...

Welcome to Fixya. If you want to connect to the Belkin Router Wirelessly and it is asking you for a Security Key, all you need to do is to access the router settings page and look for the Network Key or Passphrase.

To access the router page you need a working computer that is connected to the router. To access the router page just open a browser then type, the Default password is blank

Click on Security under Wireless and look for the Security Key or Network Key (Passphrase)

Thanks for using Fixya.

Internet not working

Check your settings on the psp if you're filled
in the incorrect settings.

If you're using a router or a modem that has
WPA2 encription enabled, set it back to WPA,
the psp is still not able to connect to a router\modem that uses WPA2 encription.

WPA encription disappeared, cannot access router

First get the DNS setting of your ISP. If you have activated the internet connection icon on system tray. View its status then i think it support menu. It will give you the details and the ISP DNS. Or ask your ISP provider.

Then connect your Computer LAN to LAN1port of the router thru LAN cable. Set your Computer LAN setting, input your LAN ipadress say then subnet say then default gateway ot the router say it is then in DNS input your ISP DNS. Test it goto router's utility page, input user and pass. Or ping the router, on windows dos type ping enter, you will got 4 lines for good connection.

Now connect the Internet cable to WAN port if it is LAN cable. browse the internet. This is the first step.

Hi, I am trying to connect another laptop to our wifi but when i enter the netgear pass code it does not regonise it. Any ideas?

The router's passcode is a different thing to the WEP/WPA encryption code.
Type into the internet browser of a computer that has access to the router and disable the WEP/WPA encryption, and press Apply or Submit.
Now Enable it again and it'll ask you to choose a password. Put something in and Submit that. That password is what you would put into the other laptop to connect.

Hope this helps
