Hello
Overheating problem normally due to the bad processor fan, you need to replace processor fan by your self or from Dell Service Center.
Hope it will solve the overheating issue if processor is OK.
Do rate the solution if this helps

Dear Smith,
The over heating issue most probably comes from blocking the output gate of the fan so please try to disassemble your laptop and clean the fan path and then everything will be alright.
The second proper issue comes from the heavy programs which are installed in your laptop.
so if you made the 1st solution and it doesn't work as you want then try to clean your laptop from heavy programs.

Check the fan in the vents if they are still working, if yes, clean them, you can do it with a can of compressed air.

If the fans are not spinning anymore, you'll have to replace them.

Live cam ext no longer working/ dell inspirion 1525 stopped working.

You need to download the drivers for your dell web cam. Go to this link: http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&ServiceTag=&SystemID=INS_PNT_PM_1525&os=WLH&osl=en&catid=&impid=
When you get there, then scroll down and select where you see "Operating System", select your operating system (ex: XP, Vista, or Windows 7). It will then show all the drivers for your operating system...scroll down until you see the word application, click on where it says application, a window will open, showing all the driver software and then scroll down to where it says "Dell webcam manager", click and download and reinstall it. Hopefully this will help...good luck.

When my wife boots up her Dell Inspirion 1525 about every third time, she gets a black screen reading "No bootable devices found".

it seems your harddisk connection is not tight enough, you'll have to open your notebook up to check it.

Locked out by password on dell inspirion 1525 how do i re install vista

If you have the vista disk, then just put it into the drive, and reboot. You may need to change bios boot order, which can be done by pressing f8 as the computer starts up, and selecting the dvd drive. If this does not work, then please refer to your user manual for the correct key to press. If you can boot, then the installation is self explanatory. Give it you country and keyboard layout, and then when the screen shows "install vista" button, undeneath it is a repair vista button link. Click this, and select your existing installation. From there it may ask you about "system restore" press cancel, and then hopefully, it will restore.  Hope this helps.
