Question about Heating & Cooling

1 Answer

I just got the Honeywell RTH2310 programmable thermostat, i am having trouble with how it is supposed to work. my husband set it to 67 but the heater will run until it is 68 or 69 degrees in the house. the presets are set for the heater to turn on four times an hour, is this the problem? what do we do to get it to stay at what we have set it to, (67 degrees)?

Did you install the thermostat yourself? It wounds like it just needs a minor adjustment - best done by HVAC technician

Operating manual honeywell rth2310

Honeywell has the manual for the RTH2310 programmable thermostat on the product page: http://yourhome.honeywell.com/home/Products/Thermostats/5-2-Day-Programmable/RTH2310B.htm . The direct link to the English/French version of the operating manual is http://customer.honeywell.com/techlit/pdf/PackedLit/69-2229EF.pdf .

I hope this helps.

The backlight is not working on my newly installed Honeywell RTH2310 thermostat.

Hello. The thermostat needs a COMMON wire. The letter C on the back of the thermostat. In the unit it runs there is a COMMON connection for that reason.I hope there is a spare wire strand to use because a lot of thermostats don't need a common to work (uses battery)but honeywell does.

Honeywell RTH2310 thermostat temp variance

Hi,
Yes you can change that by change the number of cycles per hour that your t-stat looks from for youe furnace. Lower the cycles per hour number and it will increase the range.

You can see how to do it here

need to make sure there is a jumper between RC and RH if the red wire is connected to the RC terminal the heat wont work you will need a jumper wire to tie the RC and RC together with the red wire.

New rth2310 themostat does not blow cool air

I don't believe you're going to get the new one to work -- sounds like it doesn't have enough control wires to operate your HVAC system. If it is designed to operate a 7-wire system, the documentation should show how to hook the 4-wire tstat so it will work.
