Question about Creative Labs ZEN Vision:M Digital Media Player
When i try to hook up my Zen Vision M to the computer, the computer does not recognize the player. It still charges through it and plays, i just can't figure out how to get the computer to recognize it.

TheGadgetDr. I bought my Zen Vision M WAYYYY back in 06. Up until last year I started gettin' the same problems as everyone else. As of late, I've been trying to get my data off the darn thing and googling ways of fixing the issue. I FINALLY came across this site and that link you have up. And IT WORKSSS! THANKSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

This happened to me and the only thing that solved it was sending back to creative, you have too go through their website's troubleshooters and get an RMA number from them, they will do this for free if it's under warranty, this happened to me and my boyfriend within 6 months of buying our zen vision M's, I'm currently trying to solve his without sending it back, this is without much success.

This is a very common problem. 50% of the time it just needs some simple trouble-shooting such as "Format," "Disc Cleanup" and then "Reload Firmware." If that does not work, then you are among the other 50% of folks who have a hardware issue. What this means is, a chip or several chips on your motherboard have malfunctioned and without them, the computer just can't talk to the Zen and won't recognize its there.
