If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

I have KitcheAid KERS 807, electric stove/oven range. Left lower part of ceramic stove top that has single/dual heater sizes is malfunctioning. Single one is still working but from recent dual does not.I...

Either the knob has gone out or the burner element. I would test the knob first to see if there is current when turned to the large zone. If the knob is working, next would be to test the burner to see if the outer ring has burned out. I would guess more likely the control has gone out. Burners have less failure (typically).

Could be a variety of issues. There is a circuit breaker located in the top section I believe, but I am thinking it is a thermal breaker. It is possible the brushes have worn out on the motor if it has seen a lot of use.

Think ignitor has gone on my kitcheaid gas dryer, model kgys700jq1. the problem is i dont know how to get to ignitor!

Hello Woodpizza65,

To disassamble the dryer to get to the ignotor, open the lint filter door, you will see two phillips head screws there, remove those ,then use a flatblade screwdriver and place it between the top and front panel and gently push the screwdriver down, the top will pop up so is can be raised upward(its hinged so no worry about it falling off) in the upper corners of where the front panel attaches to the other cabinet, usea 5/16" nutdriver or socket to remove those and then the front panel can be pulled out then up (note the green colored clips in the lower part of the front cabinet and the corosponding slots in the front panel they must interlock when reassambling the dryer) with the front panel off the burner asm. will be on the lower left side of the base frame, use a 1/4: socket or nutdriver to remover the screw holding in the ignitor out..replace ignitor and reassamble

ps before i forget once the top is raised before romoving front panel usea small flatblade screwdriver placed on the plug for the door switch(right side top) pry slightly and the plug will come apart so the front panel can be moved away

also when reassambling usea second person to hold drum up in the rear of it so its easy to reinstall the front panel since the drum will droop down

Water leak

A number of fridges deal with condensate by feeding it down to a tray on top of the motor where it evaporates due to the heat from the motor , by pulling the fridge out you should be able to see if this is the case , if so has your tray rusted away and is leaking straight to the floor

The insulation on the fridge shell may have broken down causing ice to form between the outer shell the filler and the inner lining.

This will condensate and will run down onto the floor.
