How do I fix a mini fridge that works on dc power but not ac?

Sometimes different cord configurations are used for dc operation and ac operation. It also possible that the 240v circuit is defective so that even with the correct cord connected the cooler won't work.

ok I assume from what you are say that the circuit breaker in the consumer unit (fuse box) trips it could be that the circuit breaker is beginning to fail (they can go weak after prolonged use) and will tend to be a problem on high load appliances the water heater will take around 12.4 amps as will the dryer heater get the circuit breaker changed

My diplomat dishwasher will not turn on. I changed the fuse in the plug and it still wont turn on. Theres no lights or anything, it has completely died

Try checking the power supply. It is possible that there is a fault in the socket. 1) Try plugging something else into the socket to check that it is working. or 2) plug your machine into a wander lead that it connected to another socket.

If still no joy, call in a repair man- good luck!

Whirlpool AWOE 8748 has no power. Changed fuse and tried in a different socket. Still no power.

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

Sorry but with such a fault it is extremely difficult for anybody on this forum to remotely guess what is wrong with your washer.

It could be internal wiring/plugs sockets, control panel switches, control PCB.
I fear that your only real option is a service call as the engineer will have the right equipment to safely diagnose what is wrong.

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

There is no power to the machine. i have changed the fuse but makes no difference, and also tried the plug in a different socket.

Using suitable electrical screwdriver check inside machine to see if power is reaching it. If not then mains lead will need changing. If there is power reaching machine then it may be a faulty door lock causing problem

No Indication...Dead Unit?

Firstly, try plugging the unit into another mains socket just to make sure it's not the socket that's faulty, or try another appliance in the socket you are using. Next, make sure the fuse in the plug hasn't blown. If you don't have a fuse tester, you can try the fuse in another similar appliance to see if it works. If it has blown and your spare lead is the same, there will be an internal problem. Inside the unit is an in-line 2 amp fuse. If this has blown you almost certainly have a power board problem. Always switch the mains off before plugging in or removing the mains lead from the rear of the unit. Back EMF can damage the appliance if you don't do this.

hi there the problem you have sounds like the motor has shorted out causing the pcb to blow, sadly this is a costly repair and is usualy not worth repairing as you will need a new motor and pcb
