Question about Dometic Rooftop RV Air Conditioner
I have strange problem that I can't get to the bottom of. I have 2 Duo-Therm Penguin 630515 installed and operated by a Comfort Control Center. The problem is with one of the units cycling when it is operating. No matter how low I set the temp, it will come on for exactly 10 min and then shut off for 2:30. This will go on all day and is exact to the second.
So far I have bypassed the EMS(Energy Management System) that sheds loads when amp draw exceeds input. I have verified that the therm is not sending the shutdown command and even switched "zones" on the CCC. I have switched the digital control boards between the rooftop units. I have checked the run cap, the start cap, the compressor and the PTCR valve per the spec/techniques in the Dometic troubleshooting guide. I have checked for air flow and obstruction in the duct and external fins.
What is perplexing is the exactness of the problem. If it were something freezing up or overheating I would expect the cycle times to be variable. The exactness of the cycle times points to a digital control problem but I can't seem to locate it.
The other unit runs fine, so if I set it very low in temp it will run constantly.
Any ideas on where to look next?
