My xbox 360 dvd drive problem

My xbox 360 now only reads cds and dvds perfect and every single time i put an xbox 360 or xbox game an error comes up saying please put this in an xbox 360 console ????? can someone please help me out with this problem or tell me how to fix it my dvd drive make is a tosiba/samsung drive

    I am having the same problem with our xbox 360. Everytime I my sons attempts to play a 360 game, it says the same thing. So I am taking it that it is a drive problem...if there is no warranty then the drive needs to be replaced...correct?

    I have the same problem. Aside from just sending it back to Microsoft. What is the actual cause of this problem? Hardware? Software?

If you have a flash drive, go to your pc and download the songs onto your flash drive and plug it in to your xbox.

sounds like a dvd drive failure
try all kinds of cds, dvds, games, whatever
if nothing works then; swap it with one known to work and if the error subsides then you need to replace it.

You need to replace the dvd drive . most online shops like console sourceDotcom have the replacement dvd drives to specify the dvd your have you can open your 360 and look or go to google and search LLama mods and there you find the types of dvd drives pick out the 1 that matches your dvd drive and place an order and they have all the how to's on how to install your new Dvd drive for your xbox 360

It wont read 360 games but it reads original Xbox games
cd drive error, if its an older xbox thats what it would be, either that or disk read error thing, i would suggest taking it in somewhere and have people look at it. or check the xox 360 games to see if there are any big scratches. that would be a big problem if there r scratches.

I put a new drive in my xbox 360 and it wont play games
every DVD drive is "married" to the motherboard. They both have a special key that keeps them together. Without that key the motherboard will not accept the DVD drive and it won't be able to play games ever again. You can extract the key from you old DVD drive and "spoof" it to the new one. That's the only way it'll work.

Your laser either needs to be cleaned or is going bad. I have seen this many times before. Try taking the drive apart and cleaning the laser aperture with 91% alcohol and a cotton swab (carefully). If that doesn't work then you need to replace the laser (or get a new drive).

there is a problem with your firmware please flash it if you have modded your xbox 360(putting pirated disks)please go to same shop where have you modded because he only can have your original dvd key if you have not modded it go to any official microsoft service centre

Your laser is bad in the drive. When it comes to reading games, DVd's, music cds, it requires a different strength from the laser in your dvd rom in order to read them. If it can't read all types then the laser is definitely bad and you can either replace just the laser or the whole drive.
