did you get any error message on your printer..?

Access your printer’s Properties dialog box (follow the directions given above). Select the General tab and click the Print Test Page button. If nothing else, you can find out a good deal about your printer’s problem. If the test page prints, you have a problem with your application, not with Windows. Answer the questions as prompted and work through Windows’ Print Troubleshooter as needed.

I bought a new Cannon PIXMA MX320 with no ink cartridge, the manual says that it requires PG-210 & CL-211, while the cannon site says it works with the PG-510 and CL-511. so my question is do they both...

Hi,

Cannon cartidge numbers are quite confusing to say the least, but your printer requires PG-510 and CL-511, PG is black and CL colour.

The 210/211 is a non european number, but they are the same as CL-511 and PG-510.

Hope this helps.

Mty printer is a PIXMA MP 470 it has an error code saying 'print head is not installed, install print head' It wont do anything or let me even go onto the menu??????

There are 2 ink cartridges that came with the printer (PG-40 and CL-31). These are the consumables that are also print head. You must install these in your printer.

Follow the setup guides/manuals that came with your printer. If you can't find them, they're downloadable from Canon's website.

Canon Pixma MP210 will not recognize high yield PG-50 & CL-51 cartridges.

The canon pixma mp 210 uses PG-30, CL-31, PG-40, CL-41
It will not recognized the PG-50 & CL- 51
See if you can return it and exchange it for the PG-40 & CL-41.
If not, the only other way is to transfer the ink into the other ink cartridges.
The cartridge cap can be removed by a sharp tap at the back end of the cover.
You can glue back the cover.
If there is an E 1,6 Error code, Ink has run out after you install your ink cartridges
Press and hold the stop/reset button for about 10 seconds to clear the error code.

I purchased new ink cartridges PG-30 and CL-31 I get error 5

Make sure you take the tape off of the electrical contacts before installing, and if they are refilled cartridges they have not been reset properly. If they are genuine Canon, you can return defective ones for 30 days.

The ink cartriges wont fit into the printer.

This printer uses PG-30 and Cl-31 ink tanks. You can also use PG-40 and CL41. Open paper output tray. Turn on the machine and lift up the scanning unit or printer cover. Pull unit support down into place and the ink holder will move to the left. Gently remove cartridges and install new ones. Let me know of outcome.
