there is no hydraulic oil in it,

When did you change the hydralic fluid last? How about the hydralic fluid filter or filters? Is it cold where you are, if so you should be using winter rated hydralic fluid. Also, you may have to turn up the engine speed to get the hydralic pump to put out more volume at a greater pressure.

Mini cooper convertible top won't go up


do you hear hydralic motor if not use test light while operating control switch up and down position, you need a helper for this procedure.if power is at switch, see if power at hydralic motor while helper work the control switch, if no power at motor hook test light to good ground if no power at hydralic motor check fuse.if power at hydralic motor and you hear no sound hydralic motor bad.if power going to control switch and not to hydralic motor either control switch bad or you have broke loose wire at switch going to motor.if all electrical system okay and when you work the up switch and hear hydralic motor running your hydralic fluid level low reason why convertible top not going up.check fluid level at the side of the motor and pump you should see screw type check plug.you should have see through side reservoir fluid level should be between min and max marks.if fluid is low check for leaks at the pump hoses and hydralic cylinders.

convertible top could be low on hydralic fluid if you have trouble getting top open or closed.check hydralic fluid hydralic pump located in trunk area look for a screw type check plug on side or end of motor pump assembly.give me more detail about back window panel stuck up.

Primer bulb will not return to pump position. After pushing bulb to fill with fuel the bulb remained in "pushed in" position and would not return to the "fill" position. Fuel in tank...


the carb is blocked you will have to take it apart and clean it out

first there is 2 screws either side unscrew them

disconnect the fuel pipe(clamp it first
disconnect the return pipe

on the bottom off the carb there is 2 screws one on each corner remove them

now the carb will come to pieces first take of the bulb
under the bulb there is a diaphram be very carefull with this and take care which way it is up
now remove the pipes
these need blowing through i use compressed air either by a comprssor or you can use a can of comprssed air which you can buy from you local dealer

when you have done this then reasemble the carb starting with the pipes then diaphram then the bulb when you get to the buld make sure that the plastic hasnt gone brittle and stuck in one play if all is ok the replace that as well the screw in the 4 screws
reattch the carb and pump the bulb 4 or 5 times and start the chain saw

I can't find your particular model pump but, in the picture shown, if thats yours, it looks like two pumps in one. Anyway, I'm pretty familiar with Shurflo pumps and they are diaphram pumps and, the antifreeze may have taken out the diaphams. I'd like to see a bigger picture of it.

The pump head should look something like this. I'd replace the diaphram assy.

LISTEN FOR HYDRALIC PUMP MOTOR OPERATION IN THE TRUNK AREA..IF YES YOU HEAR HYDRALIC PUMP MOTOR RUNNING MAKING A NOISE.CHECK HYDRALIC PUMP FLUID LEVEL BY REMOVING THE SCREW TYPE CHECK PLUG.PLACE RAGS UNDER THE CHECK PLUG.AND UNSCREW REMOVE THE CHECK PLUG. The hydraulic roof pump leaks from the reservoir.


IF CONVERTIBLE TOP HYDRALIC PUMP RESERVOIR LEAKS OR HYDRALIC CYLINDERS LEAK THE HYDRALIC PUMP HAS TO BE REPLACED.MAKE SURE FILL PLUG IS TIGHT NOT LOOSE CAUSING A SMALL LEAK.

Power steering is hard and eps light is on


Check fluid in the system, check for the serrvo pump action , if not the system must be overhauled as there is less assistance from the pump to give the hydralic thrust.
Possible failure of pump, pump belt or hydralics.

Do 1991 L series subaru legacy wagons have adjustable valves?


This model does not and uses a hydrallic lash adjuster that works something like the old lifters did. Generally when these collapse or lose hydrallic pressure,a rattling occurs in the valve train. Most generally this is a sign of an oil pressure deficit and may require a new oil pump then hopefully all lash adjusters will pump back up and close the rocker to valve clearance stopping the rattle.
