I have the same problem with a pair of Cerwin Vega V-35s. The mid-range horn does not seen to be working on either speaker. The CV schematic shows the horn as part number MP-40 (1512) 16 ohm. I'm not optimistic that CV has replacement parts but surely there are replacenet drivers out there somewhere. Any suggestions? I'll check the ohms first.

Turbo 37: Did you ever root cause your V35's? I just ran across this post. I own a pair and have done some amateur / professional speaker building. Let me know if you still want to repair. tro

Horn not working on ducati monster 796

Hi, Anonymous first check for continuity at the power and ground wire at the horn, then check for continuity at the horn button, back in the day there was a small adjustment screw on the back of the horn, by turning it one way or the other you could set the limit on how much the diaphragm vibrated. Saturn Keep blowing horn fuse

Could be a short in the steering wheel or column. Or a faulty horn relay.
You may need a wiring diagram to trace the circuits from the relay.
Usually the black wire is the ground and the green is voltage from the relay.

I have a 2001 Ducati S4 916 monster and recently blew the main 30 amp fuse. Thought it would be the rectifier and possible battery I replaced both! Still when placing the new fuse into the fuse holder it...

Hi, Akerr755 you have a dead short which is usually the easiest to find. Using a test light connected to the hot side of the blown fuse holder, start probing the wire leaving the fuse holder about an inch away the test light should illuminate, keep probing towards the ignition switch until the test light no longer illuminates you are now very close to the short. HELPPPP!

There is a TSB on this issue the horn pad needs to be replaced. See Bulletin below.

Bulletin Number: 93-3-9
Reference Number: 333202
Publish Date: 5/93

Subject:
INTERMITTENT HORN BLOWING WHEN CAR IS COLD (REPLACE CONTACT ASSEMBLY/VINYL PAD)

Models Affected:
1989-93 SUNBIRD AND 1992-93 GRAND AM MODELS

CONDITION
Some owners of 1989-93 Sunbird vehicles and 1992-93 Grand Am vehicles may experience intermittent horn blowing when car is cold.
CAUSE:
This condition may be caused by excessive shrinkage of the contact assembly components when cold. This forces the horn pad contact plates together which activates the horn.

Peavey impulse 1015 horn cuts in and out

If the horn cuts out after some usage ...then its probably the limiter lamp that is gone .... the limiter lamp is switched into circuit once the " polyswitch " gets hot .... so at first the horn works ...then when the limiter lamp is switched in ...nothing !
its just a standard 12volt car tail light lamp ...let me know if this helps

I have a set of JBL JRX125 (s) and the high end won't work on them. Not sure if I blew a fuse or the cone or what. The only audio I can get to come through them is low end.

Hi hoit

They will have either blown high frequency compression driver, or the lamp mounted to the crossover board has failed. Best way to check is pull the horn flare out of the speaker box, and check the voice coil of the HF driver(JBL2412). I think they are 8 ohms from memory. If they are shorted, or more likely open circuit then this is you problem. If they appear ok, then check the lamps. The lamps are there to protect the horns from being overdriven, odd lucks means I have seen it work the other way.
If the JBL part is too pricey for you (they are for me), you can get aftermarket replacements from many places for about $40 each. It is a replacement diaphragm that you need for each HF driver.
