Hi, I have a baxi solo boiler WM60/4RS and a Landis & Gyr RWB252 timer but my Honeywell T6160 thermostat has nether been connected, can anybody shed light on the wiring connections please.

The color code for thermostat wiring is as follows.
The "R" terminal is power into the stat from the boiler control transformer. Normally 24 volts. The "Y" terminal is for cooling. Normally left blank for a boiler. The "W" terminal is for heat. This one used to start the heating cycle. The "G" terminal is for fan operation. Probably not used for a boiler. Check the boiler terminal board for these functions and write down the wire color on each one. Match the boiler colors to the right function on the stat. If you need more than this, let me know.

I have 4 wires at thermostat, g, b, w, y. The old thermostat was removed before I owned the house. I would like a wiring diagram so I can trace the wires an know how to hook up. Thx. Ken

Trace the thermostat wires into your furnace and write down which color wire ties on to which letter at the furnace terminal strip. The HVAC color code is - g (Green) = house fan b (Blue) = auxiliary w (White) = heat y (Yellow) = cooling. If you need anything, let me know. And please vote on this response. Thank you.

New Digital thermostat and it will not stay above 67. I've tried the hold and to schedule. Do you think this is a wiring issue?

Not likely, if you followed the color code written on the back of the thermostat and the furnace wires were not touched the colored wires each mean something. A simple thermostat swap and matching the colored wires with the labeled terminals, it would not hurt to check the wires and terminals just for a piece of mind. I believe the issue is in the programming of the thermostat, and it is possible to get a bad one even new there is nothing that says it is in perfect working order.

Can't match color wires to thermostat codes. I'm replacing my thermostat and I have 6 wires coming out of the wall but can't match colors to proper connections on thermostat. I have an electric heat pump.

Make sure you have a heat pump thermostat. Standard stat wire and stat wiring are as follows.
  • R to red
  • W to white
  • Y to yellow
  • G to green
  • O/B to orange
  • C to blue or W2 to blue
Your wire colors and stat brand and model number would be more helpful if this does not clarify. Repost with additional information and I would be glad to help further.

Hot air does not come on

common color code is as follows:
Terminal Wire Color
R RED
W White
G Green
Y Yellow or Blue

This does not guarantee your thermostat was wired to common color code. Assuming it is a single transformer forced air heating and cooling system the following is likely your problem there should be a RC & a RH termial on your new thermostat incase you need a split sub-base for multiple transformers. My guess is that you are connected to RC, if there is not a wire to RH the heat function will not work. the thermostat should have been supplied with a jumper to connect RC & RH together for single transformer applications. If not any small gage piece of wire will work, if I have assumed incorrectly please give me more info about your system.
