Pressing the OK button will allow you to continue to print. Since the cartridge has been refilled, the printer ink level monitoring function will not work

I have just replaced my black ink cartridge and it shows allingment failed and my colour cartdige is low

Hi Paul,

I too have a C4180, and am getting Carriage Jam messages. I believe my problem to not be paper jams, but instead glob of ink that have collected under the cleaning mechanism on the right side of the printer. If you look inside you may find the same problem. There are (felt-type) absorbers and mine are soaked with ink, and the also some globs. There is a plastic tray that moves back and forth to clean the ink cartridges and it is no longer moving freely due to the ink.

I am trying to find a service manual to be able to disassemble and clean up properly the dripped ink. In the meantime I have used qtips, paper towwels and alcohol to try to remove the bulk of it.

Try this and let me know if it works for you.

Mike

I have a lexmark all in one X7350 and it appears as if the color ink cartdige is full, but I cannot print any images in color. Any suggestions?

remove the ink cartridges and clean the nozzles out with rubbing alcohol. when cartridges and empty and not replaced with 24 hours the nozzles will get plugged up the nozzles of course are part of the printer were the ink flows through as received from the ink cartridge

It said removed and check cartridse

turn of the printer and remove the cartidge... try to check if the cartidge has some smears or the slot where the cartidge gets placed check for ink smears .... the dotted bronze part on the cartdige or the printer act as the connector between them try to rub them gently ... turn on the printer and place them back in once it ask you to do .... i guess it will resolve your problem

Put in new ink cartridge and get error black and color cartridges need replacing

"New" refilled cartdiges? Or new from the manufacturer? Some printers have chips in the cartridges that "know" when they ran out of ink, and they have to be reset. If the refiller didn't reset the chip, it still "thinks" that the cartridge is empty.

If they're new cartridges, bought from the same place at the same time, I'd suspect bad cartridges.

Install the FINE Cartridges here.
The Black FINE Cartridge should be installed into the left slot (ug_before_printing6.jpg) and the Color FINE Cartridge should be into the right slot (ug_before_printing7.jpg).

For information on how to install the FINE Cartridges, refer to your setup sheet.
(16) Scanning Unit (Printer Cover)

This is in the first part of the Manual.
Hope this is of some help. Bud

Newly replaced black ink cartridge still shows up ink supply empt

have you used the printer properties menu to recharge the ink? Just right click on the printer icon, choose properties, click on the Maintenance tab and click on the ink cartridge replacement. You have already replaced the cartridge so just click through to the end. The last thing it does is recharge it. I think this must be where it decides it has been replaced and is full.

Printer will not print even though the cartdige is new

The ink heads are clogged with dried ink.

Follow these steps:
1) Begin saving money for a new printer.

2) Lift the scanner to get at the ink. Remove the cartridges.
Take cotton swabs and alcohol and clean all the ink off of the top of the heads (located in back.  they're the pointy things) until you can see the holes.  THE CRUCIAL STEP: Insert something-small enough to fit in the holes-all the way through every hole in every head. This should clean out the dried ink and allow your printer to continue to work.

3) If step two doesn't work, I really hope you did step one.
Don't buy an Epson.  They also have this other feature which prevents printing when one cartridge is empty.  Even a color cartridge.  I recommend a Canon, if you like name brands, or an HP.
