I have a Xantrex Prosine 3.0/24 Inverter/Charger It made a pop sound the other day and smelled of burnt resistor. Now it is not working at all. Can I get it fixed somewhere ?

OK my 2000 Discovery does the same thing. Try and hit the inverter charger with your fist 3-4 times, then listen and see if the charger fan starts up. I will be bringing my inverter to Portland this week to have the tech look at it. The other thing is it could be the transfer switch. Will let you know.

my 458 will not allow 110 volt power in my boat..the 12 volt circets work fine ..is there a switch in the 458 that might be stuck??

Xantrex inverter/ charger smells like burning electrical

I would call or e-mail the manufacturer of the inverter. The dealer or dealers may know the issue but likely the manufacturer will be more help.
Some devices like an inverter will have a smell in the beginning, power supplies are like that. You said that the inverter didn't get hot but smell indicates something is hot.

This is a know and widespread problem with the Prosine 2.0, yet when you call Xantrex, they want to charge you to return, repair and/or replace the remote panel. Shame on you Xantrex.

Xantrex Prosine 1800i "DCDC Shutdown" when connecting AC Load

Hi Schnupfy,

Well, it may be advertised as 1800 watts, but that is a peak. While the 230 VAC may be dead on target, don't expect it to run a mig welder.

Sustained high output is totally dependent upon the power source. What it's doing is protecting itself. DCDC Shutdown indicated 'An overload or system Fault'

Possible problems that would cause this:

The load is too high (what is the load?)
The power source is intermittent or weak
The power source is run through a distribution panel or isolator (Voltage drop)
The wiring from the 12VDC source is too long for the gauge used

My prosine 2.5 charger inverter intermittent

First try blowing it out the unit with compressed air to see if there is large amounts of accumulated dirt inside, look for black soot on the center of the air outlet side.

Intermittent problems are the hardest to troubleshoot.

Am getting "202 fault" error msg on prosine 300 inverter/charger

This is a common issue with this model.
It is servicable for sure !
I already repaired 2x times this exact bug, I found theelectronic culprit.
call us IDS Energie inc (Canada) 819-373-5978 ask for Lucas
We repair 100% success for this fault code 202 problem
