Nothing on the monitor, the computer powers up and e machine f2 comes up on the screen then goes blank

hello bradprice258

I am assuming you have an LCD monitor

when the computer turns on look carefully at the front face of you computer case, there are two small LED lights. one is power and one is hard disk activity.

look at the one for hard disk activity. watch it for a few mintues, if it is activly blinking and then turns off or becomes a random blink then it means the possibility is a faulty monitor. LCD monitors do that once they age or get hit by power surges or black outs.

if both lights in front of the case go out as you loose display then the problem is with Po itself. could be bad power supply of main board.

hope this has been of help.
please do leave comment if this has helped.

Upon bootup attempt there is no itial beep, comes up w/ hdp1password= on display and monitor displays toshiba splashscreen...?

The hard disk has a password on it. If you haven't activated yourself then it went active on its own, a sign that the disk electronic board is dying. This can't be fixed, the hard disk is practically dead so take it out of your laptop before it damages something else. Then put in a new one and reinstall Windows.

When i plus up my laptop the power lights come on but it doesnt post or screen comes on.

Check the hard drive activity light; if it is active at power on, look at the display from an angle to see if some ghosting of images is visible. If so, the back light for the display or its inverter may have failed.
If you have a friend you can borrow a monitor from or use briefly, connect it to the VGA (D-15 connector) to see if you have any video output. If you still see nothing, turn off the power and access the memory in the laptop. Remove and return any memory cards and try it again.
If you still have no boot, it will need technical help since this could indicate a failed motherboard or CPU.

Drive did not produce noise or activity, also drive light did not come on or flash what coould be wrong

Good day.
First, check if you have power cable is properly connected to your drive. Shut down your PC. You can detached the currently connected power cable, then use another power cable to your drive (your power supply have more than one power cable for drives - 4-wire power cable). Power on your pc. If, still, there's is no activity, then your hard disk is defective. Replace hard disk.

If you still need any more help, just let me know.

Good luck.

HP Laserjet 4345MFP
Backlight on printer display does not light.
Counts up the 256MB memory then HP logo (3 sizes) appears (just visible)
The 3 lights keep cycling on the display. Thats it, does nothing else.
It has been left overnight and continues to display the logo and cycling 3 lights.
Rear DC Cont Fan is turning. No other fans or activity with machine.
When ADF/scanner/mfp or hard disk are disconnected it does recognise this and throws an error and asks for reboot.
I have tried cold reset, nvram init. and hard disk init. but no difference.
Your thoughts?

Panasonic Toughbook cf74 notebook issue. Attempted to turn on the notebook and only got power light to come on but no other response. Checked all the connections and fan activity, with nothing obviously...

It could be windows conflict with hardware.
So try this:
1- log in safe mode;
2- If that did not work you need stand alone windows or Linux to check the system.

No boot No fan noise no display but lights come on

Somethings has happened to your motherboard, CPU and/or hard drive somewhere along the line if it wont power up when you hit the power button and this would explain the reason for no activity. When a motherboard fails, no activity will happen at all, so Im putting my money on your motherboard being defect so take it in for a service and you may have to buy a new laptop since repairs can be costly.

Dead compaq laptop, no boot activity

Larnold..Sounding like you need to check the LCD Power Inverter Circuit board.. this is located inside the screen a long rectangular circuit board that sends power to the screen backlight & Display Panel.. Could also be a Bad Backlight.. Try Booting it.. Hold it up to a light and look closely at the screen.. If you see a faint image but no light, it is the Backlight, if Just Black No Activity then its most likely the Power Inverter, OR a Bad Video Card.. You can test the VIDEO by Connecting the laptop to a Computer Monitor or similar with the laptops VGA Serial port.. then Use your function Key and Switch to 2nd Display.....(one of your F keys.. ).. If it Shows up on another screen, Its a Display problem and not the video card... Hope This Helps alittle.. Cheers
