Could be a condensation problem making the mains leak to earth with the moisture.
See what happens if you let the door stay open after use.

Hotpoint model 6671P convection microwave keeps tripping mains panel Fuse when start is pressed. Could this be a problem with a fuse in the Microwave or is is a dud magnatron? How best to test?

Too many watts on same circuit. Plug it into a different outlet and see what happens, not on same circuit. So one that stays live when micro trips circuit breaker.

Trips electricity

I would check out your breaker at your box . See what amps it is rated and see what your microwave is . Also your micro wave should only be on 1 breaker with nothing else on it

My Kenmore microwave let out a huge gun-shot/bomb sounding noise when I attempted to heat a cup of coffee---same cup used many times, no metal in it. Light still comes on in microwave; not an electrical...

Open it and check the HV transformer isn't burnt(you can see physically).
Usually that is the main cause of it.
BEFORE TRY TO OPEN IT MAKE SURE YOU UNPLUG MICROVAVE FOR 1 HR.IF YOU KNOW HOW TO DESCHARGE CAPACITOR THEN OPEN OVEN DISCHARGE CAPACITOR AND THEN TRY TO FIX IT.

When the turn on the Mains, display appears. We select Microwave option and power rating and time, and press Start, the Power to the Mains trips.

If it went dead almost immediately after pressing the Start pad, that's usually a shorted high-voltage capacitor. This will happen each time you try.

If it went dead a few or several seconds after pressing the Start pad, that's usually a failing high-voltage transformer.
If it's the transformer, this will happen each time you try.

The high voltage diode can also cause this symptom, but it will only happen once, not every time you try it.

I'd say you have a shorted high voltage capacitor.

Many microwaves have a technical sheet tucked away inside to help in locating and testing components.

Here are some links you or someone you know can use (in order given) for test help, but read the safety warnings first:

http://www.gallawa.com/microtech/cap_test.html

http://www.gallawa.com/microtech/diode.html
(if it is NOT shorted or burned looking, it's probably fine)

Display blanks and unit stops working open door and re-enter on keypad cook time its start again sometimes trips and resets again Unit is old. Symptoms is like power fail except mains is fine?

It sounds to me as if the oven is overheating, another cause for this may me microwave leakage from the wave guide or finally a faulty control panel, either way the repair cost could be expensive so you may wish to consider a new oven.

Hope this helps

Blown fuse

Check your door switches or your turntable motor, these could also cause the fuse box to trip.

LG LRM2060ST trips circuit breaker sometimes

needs to have circuit of its own rated @ 20 amps powered by # 12-2-wg wire , also very good idea to plug into a good surge protector to protect its control board, as any computer the boards are very susceptible to spike voltage caused by lightning and power problems , as to how it worked before , breakers vary a little in the amount of current it takes to trip them with age , the number of time they have to be reset and heat they have been subjected to over a period of time so it is not unusual for say one 20 amp breaker to trip @ 16 and another @19 for example also the length of wire between the breaker and the appliance can effect the trip range
