Knocking in cylinder head of escort 1.8 lx td

Hi, it sounds like your master clutch cylinder has gone needs to be repaired.

Sounds Like A Piston Connecting Rod Knock this Happens from #1 Poor Oil Circulation at that or all Rods thus Causing Severe Wear to the Rod Bearing Or #2 Abuse Such As Unnecessary High reving at sestained Hi RPM's and this Is A Major Repair that Involves Basically Rebuilding the Engine. A Trained EAR Can Diagnose A Rod Knock. I can Pick this Out Just After 10-20 Seconds. All I can Advise is for you to Go to A "TRUSTED" Mech./Tech. for Diagnosis. Im hoping this Helps you Find the Problem, I am Unable to HEAR the Engine so this is as Much as I Can Do for you . I truely Hate to be the Bearer of Bad News but I Call it like I See it .

Apparently the 3.5 liter V6 had a lot of oiling problems, see link attached.

The slight knocking you hear may be a valve lifter that has gummed up. The head gasket problem may have allowed some coolant to get into the oil exacerbating gunk buildup. If it a deeper problem like rod bearings, you would have to decide if it is worth the trouble of fixing it or drive it until it drops.

Sound like you jumped a tooth on the timing belt. Change it immediately. If it jumps more or completely fails you will bend all the valves. Just make sure you time it correctly. However a bad Mass Airflow sensor would cause the RPMs to go crazy. But the pinging is most likely the valve tapping the piston and needs immediate attention as well.

Make sure the wires are in the right firing order..If thats ok then you may have blown a head gasket

if you have oil leaking that severe, chances are that one of your spark plug holes have oil in them causing your misfire..in that case it would sound that you need to replace your valve cover gasket
to check pull one by one you ignition wire up from valve cover and check for oil in hole and on boot

sounz like the turbo or waste gate may be giving you problems. Check to see the waste gate on the turbo is closing properly.

It sounds like a blocked exhaust pipe , try reving engine an feel the pressure that comes out the rear exhaust and take note of engine revs then compare it with another vehicle. if you feel its weak you can try disconnecting front pipe from the first silencer/ exhaust and then do test again and see where reves go to , No need to over rev vehicle.

sounds like you blew some fuses replace them. then reconnect stock wiring. the get after market deck, amp, and wiring that in it's color coded so it no that hard to do.that 10 inch pa speaker pulls a lot power plus it 8 ohm impudence. your going to need at least a 200 watt amp.bridgeable.
or single channel.

it might be caused by a bad rocker or lifter.
