The hour hand is off. How do I set the hour hand?

If you have a normal three hands + calendar watch - you should pull out the crown two notches out and turn it. Both hands should turn. Now, if your hour hand is off from a marker when your minute hand is on 12 (or 0 minutes) than you would normally need a watch maker. The hands assembly on your watch was done sloppily.

How do I synchronize a Grandfather Clock to chime correctly on the right hour?

Count the number of times the clock strikes, while leaving the minute hand pointing at the twelve, move the hour hand ( short hand) to the number it struck. ( this is the only time you should ever move the hour hand yourself). Tighten the hour hand by pressing the hour hand in towards the dial just a little. This can be done by placing a thumb nail on each side of the base of the hour hand at the center shaft. You do not want the hand to touch the dial. Now run your clock up to a quarter after, and let it chime. Now the half hour, the third quarter, and finally the hour. It should strike the correct hour if done correctly. Short version, move minute hand(long hand) to twelve so that it's pointing straight up. 2 move hour hand(short hand) back one hour. 3 tighten hour hand by pushing in toward dial. 4 check the function by advancing the clock one quarter hour at a time letting it chime in between quarters, then counting the strike on the hour. Hope this helps, and not confuses. Good Luck

How can i fix the second hand on a wall clock the hand just hangs down while the big hand goes around?

  1. It isn't clear what hand you are talking about, but it doesn't matter
  2. Set the hand that is working to 12:00
  3. Place the loose hand at 12:00 and gently press it on. It is usually a friction type fit
  4. The hands should line up at 12, that is the goal
  5. good luck, Michael

I HAVE A CLOCK MOVEMENT KIT 1/4 INCH . THERE ARE 4 PIECES AND NO INSTRUCTION ON WHAT ORDER THE HANDS ARE PLACED ONTO THE MOVEMENT MECHANISM

mcdevito75 here, I do some work on watches and clock movements are similar. Generally the face/dial; of the clock will go onto the movement and is secured onto the movement, then the smaller hand is pressed onto the shaft in the center of the face/dial Gently place the small hand onto the shaft, NOW with twezzers apply gentle but even pressure onto the small hand just where the small hand goes onto the shaft, NOW, Make sure the small hand is pointing exactly to any of the hour numbers, place the larger hand gently onto the shaft, make sure the larger hand is pointing to the 12 O"clock useing the twezzers again press the larger hand onto the shaft, gentle even pressure on the hand just where it goes onto the shaft, both hands should now be pointing to the exact hour you lined up . Turn the hands too make sure they line up exactly at different hours. 3 O'clock, 6 O'clock etc. --------- NOW the bad news, if you need to remove the hands for any reason, even pressure must be applied to keep from distorting the hands while removeing them and for this you"ll need a Hand remover tool available on ebay This hand remover tool slips just under the hand right where it attaches to the shaft, you could use anything to do this such as 2 needles, but evn pressure must be ued to pry up and remove the hands other wise the hole in the hand will be dis-torted. Good Luck.

Minute hand and second hand

There is a tool available in the market to remove second hands.

If you have a watch screwdriver you can easily remove both the hands. Just keep the screwdriver in between minute hand and second hand and gently twist the screwdriver. But be careful, it may damage the dial.

2) Press the bottom push button to adjust the hand

To reset the seconds hand / middle
1) Pull the center knob a full out (2 clicks)
2) Press the top push button to adjust the hand

To reset the minutes hand / top left
1) Pull the center knob out half way (1 click)
2) Next press the bottom push button to adjust the hand.

Once all hands are reset, push the center knob back in fully...done

Wall clock not working

If you are sure the hands are not touching as they pass, perhaps the minute hand and hour hand are binding together at the hub. Try this: Gently pull on the minute hand by gripping its hub with the nails of your finger and thumb. It should slide forward a little (or come off). Also the same for the hour hand, to ensure it is not binding on the face of the dial.
I don't know the particular clock, but if it has a SECONDS hand, this is often the one that needs to be freed.
If all the hands are free, all should be good. If it has a seconds hand and the clock stops when this hand is going "uphill", try a fresh battery. If this doesn't fix it, remove the seconds hand and use the clock without it. Or you could try to counterbalance the hand by adding a little weight to the opposite side... this could work, but as it increases the mass of the hand also, it still might be a problem.
Another way might be to shorten the seconds hand..!

Reset Stopwatch Hands on CL1111 ?

Try setting the crown to position 2 - i.e. the position normally used to adjust the date.  Then use the top and bottom stopwatch buttons to adjust the minute hand and 1/10th hand respectively.
