Hi,

Unplug unit from the wall, remover the start relay from the compressor and shake it. If its solid possible bad compressor, if it sounds loose (broken part) then most likely bad relay. Verify your model number as you are missing some letters.

Good Luck

It most likely is caused by a defective water control valve that continues to leak water into the ice make even while off. Your model uses a=> 2002182 Water Inlet Valve I am here should you have questions, Thanks Sea Breeze

Loud clanging when it stops running model # ED25DQ

When the motor inside the compressor stops, the internal springs absorb the momentum. If an internal spring breaks or (more likely) gets weak, it may allow the motor to bang against the outer case of the compressor. The refrigerator will most likely work many more years this way, but the only way to stop that noise would be to replace the compressor, which is cost prohibitive. If you can't live with the noise, buy a new energy efficeint refrigerator and recycle the old one or use it in the basement or give it away. PS. If you give nearly any refrigerator compressor, even a new unused one, a shake, you will hear it knock against it's outer case.

I have a Whirlpool Side-by-side Model # ED25DQ 25.2 My ice maker quit working. It is not letting the water come in. The arm is still rising and falling to let the ice out into the bin. What can I do to fix...

1) Check that the water filter is not plugged.
2) Listen if you hear the water solenoid energize as the fingers rotate around and come to a stop. If not, then you could have a bad water valve. If you do, check that something is not blocking the water flow through the valve.
The fill switch on the ice maker may be bad as well, which would prevent you hearing the water solenoid from energizing. It is located inside of the front cover of the ice maker.

Let me know what you find and I will help further.

My water dispensor want work, I'm getting water, no humming when

Before you replace the switch have you checked the following.
Proper waterflow / pressure, filter condition, water line has no been crimped or bent, water line is not frozen.
Have you tried unplugging the unit and waiting a few minutes, plugging it back it and checking it?

I am sure these Q's may sound dumb, but I don't know everything you have already done. AND I hate to see people spend money on stuff they don't need.

Hope one of these help.
If so, please rate me.
Thanks,Matt

Whirlpool ED25DQ - not colling

Need you to look inside the fresh food compartment and turn the defrost timer clockwise slowly.
d01b0a9.png part number 6 is defrost timer. When you turn it and compressor stops leave it there for 20 minutes and see if the refrigerator comes back on. If not the timer will need to be replaced, Let me know, Sea Breeze
