IC processor chip probably deadif you can't access either unit you probably need to get a new one, replacing the IC Chip usuallt costs more than the Combo itself

Check the power supply rails on the secondary side of the power

transformer.

• Check the presence of AC outputs on the transformer secondary

windings

• Check the diodes and capacitor circuit

• Check the regulator circuits

What should i do when my television doesn't turn on?

if your unit is dead set totally no power at all even led indicator the first step is check your AC outlet make sure the supply is present then check broken AC cord for your TV unit. then next step is to open the back cover for trouble shooting, try to use your senses first to diagnose defective part smell burnt parts, wirings, connector or even PCB. look for blown fuse and leak capacitors especially the output filter capacitor at the power supply which cause sometimes by over heat where in the capacitor casing explode, the temperature was exceed to the rating.and then use digital tester try to power on check the output voltage of power supply if present and normal according to its label.

No power to monitor. Red light does not come on.

Hello The TV is completely dead no power indicator, nor standby light. Probable main fuse failure, but first make sure your AC feed is present, try another electrical fixture in the TV ac outlet you are using to make sure the outlet is alive. If this is not the case then check the main fuse(located inside the TV) not recommended if you are not qualified to work on electronic equipment. A blown AC fuse usually is an indicator of more serious problem further in the power chain(power supply/HV circuits, etc.)

Ac power Symphonic sc309D blows fuse- Dc power ok

The most likely problem is a shorted diode, I suggest replacing them even if they do not test shorted while not under load. If it is not the diode rectifiers, there is probably a resister in the power supply that is shorted, remember also that it can also be both. Lastly, it can be a capacitor within the power supply.

Dead power supply.

Faulty power-supply symptoms:

The front panel display and buttons are completely nonfunctional and appear dead. The unit will do nothing more than display the following messages on the TV screen:

Interface error
(and or)
Interface error! Turn off the power

If a DVD or VHS tape was inserted prior to the error occurring, you won't be able to eject either from that point further. They'll remain stuck inside the unit until you've completed the repair detailed below.

Interface error! Turn off the power <--- explains how to completely restore your combo in less than 20 minutes by replacing a $1.59 part on the power-supply board. mikeadams110@yahoo.com

Dead md-350wps

first remove all the dust from smps then check power cord output by multimeter whether right or not ok then open and you will find one fuse there check it without supply if open then replace it if not then check whether a.c. supply reaches or not if present then check the thermister resistance it should be low also check the dry solder if present then remove it please check dc supply at primary filter (big cylendrical capacitor) if not present then 4 bridge rectifier diodes may faulty replace it

Dvd player is completely dead.

First thing to check is the power cord with it unpluged. Do you get a resistance there or is it open?? If its no reading at all then the power transformer or fuse or current limiter resistor is open. If you do get a reading then you know your power transformer primary is good. Next measure the AC volts comming from the secondary of the transformer. AC volts? Good! Now Find pin 1 or the end pins on the microprocessor. 5 volts present?? No theres your problem get a schematic and troubleshoot the power supply. Yes 5 volts? Measure the display any volts on it?? Ok im sure by now your gonna say no to one of these and like I said get a schematic and conferm all the voltages are present in the power supply. Most common dead problem in dvd/cd players is the power supply ie transformer, regulator, ic, ect, ect. Good Luck
