Question about GE JGBS23 Gas Kitchen Range
Check if flame is turning on. If there is flame but no heat, then the most common fault is the temperature probe sensor, located inside the cavity. This will affect both broiling and baking function.
If there is no flame check if the glow bar or spark igniter is working. If ignitor is OK, test the valve coils. The coils are tested using a multimeter set on Ohms on the coil contacts. If the circuit is open (no continuity-Ohms infinity), then the coil is bad and must be replaced.
Other part that may result in no flame is the flame sensor. this fault is less common.
Check also gas pressure and pressure regulator if present.
