Sounds like there is something stuck in the impeller...make sure you unplug/disconnect the power from the unit before you try to remove the foreign object

A loud humm occurs when the BA radio is turned on. The humm occurs 10 seconds after the center button is depressed and does not subside.

One of your filter capacitors is bad. These capacitors are part of the electronics that convert the wall (mains) alternating current (ac) to direct current (dc). Best option is to look for local electronics repair shop and ask for a quote. A filter capacitor is one of the few things these shops can still fix because everything else is imbedded on a proprietary chip and computerized. Good luck.

My motor is not running is this reset button going to help and where is it/

red little button is (hard to see it but it is there) on the bottom of the unit. With the power turned off, depress the red button....should feel it push in and stay. if this does not work, replace the wall switch where you turn the disposer on and off, if this does not work replace the entire unit.

Humms but blades don't move. the blades move freely. the reset button did not fix it. thank you.

Try placing the allen wrench into the socket on the underside of the disposer and working it back and forth, then trying it electrically. The blades can appear to be free, even with a jam. The moving of the inner workings with the allen wrench should free it all up. Flush the disposer with a potful of ice and water when it turns freely.

I have a badger 5 plus garbage disposal (5-6 years) it humms

Yes, it sounds like you have a bad motor winding, not allowing the motor to actually work. It is time to replace. Hope this helps

BADGER GARBAGE DISPOSAL just humms. does not work.

It sounds like the disposer has something jamming it. Try using the breaker wrench supplied with the disposer (or a suitable-size hex wrench) fitted into the socket on the bottom. Rock the wrench back and forth to see if you can loosen the jam. Another trick is to use a wooden rod (end of a broom handle, for example) to push on the blade to try dislodging the jam. Look inside with a flashlight to see if there is something that is easily missed. (I have found drink can tabs, coins and a shelf clip that way.)

It's also possible the motor starting capacitor inside the disposer or the motor itself is bad, in which case you would probably spend less on a new disposer than on repairing this one. But a jam is more likely.
